Objective

Deputy Operations Manager, Alaska Radar System Sep 07-1 Oct 14 In addition to the Airfield Manager duties described below, I was given the responsibility of overseeing 150+ company employees in all facets of remote radar site operations. This oversight included everything from the interview and hiring process to training, scheduling, and disciplinary up to and including dismissal. Areas of responsibility included site security, power production and distribution, water and wastewater systems, HVAC, facility repairs, housekeeping, cooking, and everything else needed to maintain and operate these remote sites. Also included was coordinating the requirements of 3 different unions, numerous contracts and agreements, and various government agencies such as OSHA, FAA, DoD, and Alaska DEC and DOT. In addition, I headed up a multi-disciplined team of people to plan, coordinate, and accomplish several million dollars annually in construction and repair contracts at these locations.

Airfield Manager, Alaska Radar System Nov 04-Mar 15

Supervised flight support operations of over 150 employees on 7 separate airports scattered across Alaska

Developed directives covering safety, security, aircraft support, and airfield maintenance

o Sources used were USAF directives and FAA 150-series Advisory Circulars

Implemented detailed site-specific Airport Inspection Checklists o Ensured equipment outages and other areas of concern were identified and appropriate action (repairs, NOTAMs, management notifications, etc) initiated o Ensured all actions requiring runway closures were properly coordinated and approved

Conducted initial familiarization and recurring training for all employees o Included flightline driving, airport safety, operation of VASIs, PAPIs, REILs and other airport lighting systems, environmental spill response o Maintained a zero-incident record, despite extreme weather conditions and the fact that most company employees had absolutely no airport background

Developed comprehensive package detailing every area of each airport that was outside the applicable criteria. Included photos of each violation, the criteria reference, and planned solutions where applicable

Using AC 150/5370-2F procedures, oversaw diverse maintenance, construction, and upgrade projects on remote airfields

o Coordinated with employees at the affected location, appropriate USAF offices, affected carriers, and FAA. Ensured required NOTAMs sent and required training accomplished with contractors.

Trained 89 employees as weather observers and transitioned company to METAR reporting standards

o Employees averaged over 99% error-free rating on observations for over 8 years

Airfield Manager, Elmendorf AFB, AK Mar 1990-Oct 1994

Supervised activities of over 250 personnel, in all facets of airfield operations and safety
