WORK EXPERIENCE & RESEARCH PROJECTS:

Graduate Researcher - Dr. Robert Breidenthal’s Research Group, University of Washington & Qi2 QUEST Integrated, LLC

Vortex location & strength determination over a Flat Plate (October 2015 - ongoing)

- Conducting wind tunnel experiments to determine the position and strength of vortices by using an array of Vortex Generators

- Identified suitable dual port pressure sensors to match experiment requirements

- Compared 5 different vortex generators against 24 parameters

Pressure sensing of flow over a Cylinder (March 2015 – September 2015) Performed wind tunnel experiments to measure the frequency response of pressure sensors mounted on circular cylinders as a function of cylinder diameter and wind speed using Data Acquisition System and ANSYS Fluent Aerodynamics Engineer - SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition 2016 (University of Washington’s UW Hyperloop) (July 2015 - ongoing)

Team Member of Aero-Structures, Business Management and Public Relations sub-teams. One of the 22 teams from 1200 registrations over the world to qualify for the Manufacturing Stage. Also won the award for “Safest pod Design”

Pitched and presented the pod design at the Hyperloop Design Weekend at Texas A&M University in Jan 2016. Designed the pod shell in ANSYS Workbench with Drag Coefficient of 0.3 and hoping to improve design. Simulated a Pod Crash Analysis in ABAQUS

Currently optimizing battery cooling system using ANSYS Icepak and conducting the FEA analysis of the Pod Chassis using ANSYS Workbench

Van’s Aircraft RV-10 Home-build (December2015 - ongoing)

Currently working at a colleague’s machine shop and to build the 4-seater, single engine aircraft from the Van’s RV-10 Aircraft Kit

Experienced in parts kitting, sheet metal riveting and component assembly Undergraduate Researcher - Design optimization of a ‘Variable angle rear wing’ of a high-speed vehicle (July 2013 – March 2014)

Aerodynamic analysis of various angles of attack of airfoil to obtain the best possible design and configuration of the rear wing of a vehicle in order to gain more stability and better handling of the vehicle.

Researched NACA Database to narrow down to 9 different airfoils. Compared analysis results between ANSYS Fluent and FoilSim III to find out the optimal airfoil for the application Summer Trainee - Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Aerospace Business Unit, Powai, Mumbai (June 2013 – July 2013)

Worked for the project of Solar Array Deployment Mechanism in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)

Contributed in the component design study, material procurement, assembly, testing and quality control Vehicle Body Aerodynamics & Chassis Design - SAEINDIA’s SUPRA 2012 (Team RGIT) (August 2011 – September 2012)

Represented RGIT (undergraduate college) at the national level SUPRA as a part of the student team from Mechanical Engineering Department where we had to design and fabricate a formula style racing car. Succeeded in making the 3rd lightest and 2nd cheapest

car among 65 teams from all over the country

Designed and analyzed the vehicle body in ANSYS Workbench and fabricated using the regular fiberglass making process over cardboard making the body 80% lighter than a fiberglass body

Assisted in chassis manufacturing and integration of steering and braking systems with it LEADERSHIP/PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

Project Coordinator - Seattle smart-city challenge (February 2016 – June 2016) GISE team project involved establishment of a systems design solution using system engineering and project management principles to make Seattle a tech-enabled smart-city capable of mitigating the traffic issues Director - ASUW Experimental College (ExCo), University of Washington (June 2015 – August 2016) Responsible for the smooth running of the ExCo, with regards to marketing, accounting, on and off campus presence and budgeting, while leading a team of 7

President - Mechanical Engineering Students Association (RGIT) for Academic Year (2013 - 2014) Event Management Secretary - Technical Festival INNOVISION 2014 (2013 - 2014)
