Senior Manager – Supply unit

Manufacturers of plate and spiral heat exchangers.

• Involved in all developmental work in product and processes since 1985.

First 5 years experience in production with assembling the various types of heat exchangers, item codification and computerization of bill of materials. Manufacturing of milk pasteurization plants/modules.

Second 5 years experience in implementation of semi-welded heat exchangers and developments in planning to streamline the production. ISO9001 activities done in this period and got the certification. Started mfg of Spiral heat exchangers. Skid based modules for Oil/water manufactured.

Third period of 5 years was bringing the planning and purchase together the improve the performance to customer’s expectations. Implementing MRP system for material planning.

Fourth period of 5 years we worked together with the suppliers to improve the the material flow in to the factory to increase the output. And certification of U Stamp. Implementing the ERP called Movex for all the processes. Pre-estimation package was developed for the product costing.

Last period of 5 years we were busy in running various 6 sigma projects to reduce the internal cycle times, improving total supply chain, implementing the ALPC culture and development of people. Certified for ISO14001 and OSHAS 18001. Responsible for the complete Supply unit.

• Experience in fabrication and assembly of heat exchangers of all the sizes (Max 24.5MT).

• Implemented order handling system involving standard delivery times and product supply agreement with marketing. Reporting delivery performance.

• Reporting Key figures for STARGOAL performance of the unit.

• Vast experience in handling project/contract orders (project management) with special requirements from customers, Inspection agencies, etc. Customers like NPCIL, NTPC, BHEL, UHDE, Indian Railway, etc.

• Monitoring and planning at various stages of production of heat exchangers.

• Review of material requirements and running MRP for the heat exchangers.

• Member of Management Team for reviewing the progress and follow up of operational plan

and review with group steering committee.

• Product knowledge – Dexther, Block specifications and new product introduction as per

AL procedures.

• Engineering & Development – Creating new environment in Movex for manufacturing of

the products including the BOM Generation.

• Rolling of New products as per Group guidelines.

• Knowledge on Lean six sigma project methodology and DPMO system.

• Continuously working on reducing the delivery times of heat exchangers to improve supply

chain.

• Working with all the process improvements in AL (PRIME) for Order to cash, Engg. &

development, manufacturing, Purchase to pay & Inventory.

• Driving the organization on the Leadership front and development of people.

• Arranging group works and reviews for implementing improvements thru involvement of

employees. Identify the gap based on job profiles and arrange for the performance

development.

• Responsible as a Legal factory manager for all types of statutory audits including ISO,

Internal audits, group audits, WIP/inventory audits, Health Safety Environment, etc.

• Introduced a series of new products, improvement, process capability, cost reduction and

Performance management programs that improve production output, product quality and

Customer satisfaction.

• Involved with strategic production planning, achieving targeted production goals to

Customer requests.

• Participation in the preparation of ASME U Stamp manual and its implementation.

In year 2000, visited few global suppliers in Sweden, Denmark and UK for development purpose.

In year 2004, we had implemented ERP Movex for the Alfa Laval, Satara and I had been to AL Sweden to study the ERP and MRP processes to implement in India.

I had participated in supplier development program in year 2007 at Alfa Laval, Sweden.
