MEDTRONIC

HR Manager Atlanta, GA Oct 2011 - Present

Directly manage HR functions for 173 employees in 675,000 square foot distribution center. Provide HR support to all functional areas including training, development, recruiting, retention, and workplace investigations. Manage 3 direct reports.

Designed and implemented new 7 year-wage plan for DC hourly employees. New structure is competitive to fair market rates and will allow total salary cost to remain flat through the next 7 years.

Designed and implemented new hourly performance review system to include new review documentation and pay for performance component.

Designed and implemented one-on-one skip-level development program. Program aids in the design of an Indivdual Development Plan for key personnel.

Provided interim HR Management support to two other DCs while HR positions were vacant – one in Joliet, IL and one in Ontario, CA. Continue to provide mentorship to new HR professionals in their new roles at both facilities.

Designed and implemented retention interview program. Program also implemented in Joliet DC.

Redesigned sourcing, interviewing, and hiring practices. New hire retention rate at 95%.

Successfully implemented Diversity and Inclusion recruiting initiatives. FY12 through present, 75% of leadership/professional positions filled with diversity candidates.

Interim HR Manager Hobart, NY Mar 2010 - Oct 2011

Directly managed two functional areas – HR and Training, in support of a pharmaceutical manufacturing site with 720, reduced to 630 employees. Provided HR support to all functional areas of plant through management training and development, employee relations, workplace investigations, benefits management, and recruitment in support of strategic goals/objectives. Managed up to 10 direct reports.

Provided plant HR leadership in Reduction In Force event, May 2010. Reduced facility by 92 employees while maintaining positive morale and focus among the workforce in the facility.

Recruitment Champion; Lead recruitment of 29 requisitions in 2009/17 requisitions in 2010 – 47% of requisitions filled in less than 60 days with 52% being filled with diversity candidates. Refined process to include audit of interview packet, diversity recruitment process, and significantly reducing reliance on recruiters.
