Dear Hiring Manager:
I am pleased to be writing you today in regards to my application for the advertised medical assistant position. I believe my qualifications and externship experience make me an ideal candidate for this position.
I have experience with a 240 hour externship in which I worked the front and back office. This experience came at the end of my accredited medical assistant program. I am proficient with computers, have a keying speed of 85 wpm, and a working knowledge of grammar, spelling, and medical terminology. I am organized, calm, and patient professional with the necessary healthcare skills to provide a level of care that is above standard levels of service. I will be sitting for my certification exam in October to become a certified medical assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
During my certification program, I have taken courses in clinical procedures, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical law and ethics, and an administrative medical assistant course, as well as many others. I have put in many hours in the lab and into my externship to practice and honed my skills in order to do the best that I can in a medical facility. I believe a working relationship with your medical facility would be mutually beneficial, as I am seeking a challenging, full-time work environment where I can use my skills to the fullest extent. I look forward to hearing from you and being able to discuss my qualifications and skills further in an interview. I have enclosed my résumé, contact references, and reference letter. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Jessa Lordo
