Designated Support Engineer III

Supported Enterprise customers using EMC / Pivotal hardware and software. Coordinated with EMC / Pivotal product engineering to document and provide fixes for issues encountered by customers. Tested new features and trained customer personnel. Maintained corporate lab environment for testing.

Advised big data analytics team on design and troubleshooting of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) job flows, improving run times and eliminating deadlock conditions in database and creating more stable production job flows.

Designed, implemented and trained employees on Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) database backup and recovery solutions, eliminating regular failures in backup / recovery process, resulting in more robust and consistent customer scripts and reducing runtimes for backup process due to automation.

Implemented and tested disaster recovery (DR) configuration for MPP database, providing ability for database replication and recovery at remote site, satisfying strict customer requirements for disaster recovery in 4-hour window for multi-terabyte database.
