Advisory Engineer 2011 – 2016

Delivered Capacity planning for 6 state agencies. Monitored server / storage infrastructure and backup processes related to agencies. Solved problems affecting SLA targets. Successfully implemented annual Disaster Recovery (DR) drill.. Collaborated with team leads on the development of system standards, thresholds and recommendations to maximize system performance. Managed the day to day operations of Netbackup and associated projects within the environment. Managed all changes and incidents through the Change Management process.

Achieved DR success, saving company $50K monthly in penalties for unsuccessful DR tests. Took leadership of Backup and Recovery (BUR) team DR efforts and implemented synchronization of events that were adverse to a successful recovery

Increased SLA from 60% to 98% monthly by remediating network, WAN, and HBA inefficiencies. Reconfigured and renamed all policies and schedules, taking advantage of naming standards, multiplexing, and multiprocessing.

Identified and removed from the configuration, 6 media servers that were dormant, saving $30K per server in licensing cost. Upgraded all Masters, Media, and Client servers from Netbackup (NBU) 6.5 to 7.1 and then to 7.5. Installed periodic Netbackup Emergency Engineered Binaries.
