Experience
Engineering Manager 08/2015 – 12/2015
Odessa Separator, Odessa, TX
Supervised Design Engineering Group functioned in the development of new products for the Filtration / Sand Control, Gas Separation, and Chemical Treatment. immediately
Mechanical Design Engineer IV 04/2012 – 12/2014
Schlumberger, Houston, TX
Designed innovative solution of mill assembly, improved cementing whip system.
Advanced equipment associated with down-hole Wellbore Departure applications, Drilling tools and Remedial.
Project lead in role for handling new and sustaining product development for Wellbore Departure product line: Whipstocks, Anchors, and Running Tools, Cementing Whip, Packers, Multicycle, and High Flow valves.
Project Engineer 09/2011 – 04/2012
Lufkin Industries, Inc.
Houston, TX
Lead a process of API certification. As the result, API monograms Lufkin Industries with a rank #3 around the world, ahead of 95% major oil gas companies.
Spearheaded conceptual mechanical design of motion system for Density Neutron Tool LWD (Logging-While-Drilling).
Mechanical Design Engineer IV 02/2008 – 02/2011
TriQint Semiconductor, Corp.
Richardson, TX
Steered a group of Senior Designers, and designed High Frequency microwave test equipment (up to 110 GHz).
Performed stress, flow, and thermal analysis.
Engaged in research and presented findings for using a new group of materials –Super Nickel alloys, specifically Alloy 42 and Alloy 46 (controlled thermal expansion alloys), instead of traditional CuMo15, or CuW75 alloys, resulting in the elimination of gold-coating problem. Projected savings exceeded $750K per year.
Development Engineer 05/2005- 11/2007
Dexter Magnetic Technologies, Inc.
Elk Grove Village, IL
Designed tools for downhole (Oil-Gas applications): MagneGear, Ditch Magnet, Magnetic Coupler, and Position Marker.
Spearheaded most complex project-Downhole Turbine Generator: improved design of pressurized electrical connectors and profile of the turbines, which is included proportional reduction of the pitch versus applied pressure.
Performed 3D modeling design; simulated heat, flow and stress analysis of proposed and existing designs.
Mechanical Design Engineer 01/2003- 05/2005
O-I-Analytical, Corp.
College Station, TX
Directed development of innovative product, TOC, streamlined and successfully finished the project in less than 2.5 years.
Lead entire lifecycle of the mechanical development process, and necessary engineering technical procedures from a conceptualization to serial production. Success recognized by expansion of product lines, based on original TOC (Total Organic Carbon Analyzer). The commercial devices resulting from this design effort delivers unmatched performance in TOC measurement of wastewater, industrial effluents, seawater, brine, and drinking water.
Mechanical Engineer III 08/1999- 01/2002
Andrew, Corp.,
Richardson, TX
Created prototypes, assemblies and parts for 3.5-43 GHz Local Multipoint Distribution Service antennas.
Performed stress, vibration, and thermal analysis, environmental product testing, involved in research and development processes of protecting antenna radome from water film and freezing rain.
Developed techniques, and designed series of real 3D shape antenna reflectors, using advanced surface modeling.
Implemented two software packages (DesignSpace and SurfaceWorks), which save up to 50% of time for advanced surface modeling and stress analysis, and reduce up 90% of failure during complicated (parts and assemblies) FEA and thermal analysis.
Product Engineer
Stanley Mechanical Tools, Inc., Dallas, TX 09/1997 - 08/1999
Designed, and improved product ideas (torque wrench and ratchets).
In close coordination with marketing, partners, and vendors moved the line of drill bits from Stanley to Black and Decker (cost reduction associated with transfer of products lines resulted up to 50 million dollars).
Performed research and completely redesigned a group of high volume products (impact power sockets), resulting in elimination of stress-endurance problem which previously caused about 4.5 million dollars per year on warranty returns.
Performed sampling and testing, engineering support, document control, and management of several products lines of different brands (Mac, Proto, Challenger, Husky, Blackhawk, Craftsman, etc.): torque wrenches, impact sockets, pliers, chisels, drill bits, etc., for domestic US and international markets. .
Engineering Manager 06/1977 – 05/1994
