To Whom It May Concern;
I am writing in regards to the Intake Worker position posted on Trovit website. I have completed the Addictions Counselor/Community Support Worker program at CDI College, completing my eight-week practicum at Alberta Hospital working with Wanda Davis (Addictions Counsellor) in Forensics of which I am enjoyed immensely. I have been co-facilitating/facilitating our Addictions Recovery, Narcotics Anonymous, Men’s/Women’s Recovery and Relapse Awareness group meetings, attending patient conferences, review board meetings, one on one counselling sessions with patients, participating in program planning, and I have also created client recovery workbooks, patient worksheets, and treatment plans in my time at Alberta Hospital.
I am very passionate about the career path I have chosen, and I am also very excited to put the vast amount of knowledge I have gained into action. I absolutely loved every minute of my time at Alberta Hospital, and was very sad to leave, although I know I will be moving on to help so many more people just like I did at the hospital. I am an extremely motivated, dependable, positively strong individual, and want to make a difference, in the lives of others. Everyone deserves a chance to be happy in their lives, and if I can help them through a tough time in their lives, that is exactly what I want to do. The Addictions Counselor/Community Support Worker program covers many different focuses throughout the 10-month program, which consists of 18 modules that include Fundamentals of Addiction, Pharmacology, Assessment and Treatment Planning, Relapse Prevention, Ethics, Interviewing Skills, Group Facilitation, Working with Families, High Risk Populations, Youth Issues, Community Resources & Networking, Psychology, Communication Fundamentals, Case File Management, Secondary Traumatic Stress, Preventative Health Promotion, Career and Employment Strategies just to name a few. My average thus far in the program is 96%.
I am extremely interested in working with your organization, and hope you will take myself and the skills I have learned into consideration. Enclosed is a current copy of my resume. If you have any questions regarding how my skills, experiences, and interests fit with your program, please call me at 780-***-**** I may also be reached through E-mail at ****************@*****.**. You may also contact my instructor Claire Mac Donald at 780-***-**** or through email at ******.*********@**********.**. Thank you for considering me for this position and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Kelly Johnson
