Butane to Alkylate Project

Overview:

Fluor was tasked with developing a feasibility study in which three separate licensed technologies would be used in a single grass-roots plant to develop a 36 MBPD alkylate plant as well as provide all offsite and utility planning necessary. Achievements:

• Developed Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat and Material Balances (HMBs) and preliminary equipment sizes for the Storage, Flare and Loading units.

• Conducted several PFD reviews with the client to help integrate existing designs into the grass roots facility.

• Developed a rail loading scheme to properly manage feeds to the plant and products being shipped. Fluor Corporation - Process Engineer 08/2014 - 01/2016 Client:

Sasol Lake Charles Cracker Project (Ziegler Unit)

Overview:

Fluor, in a Joint Venture with Technip, managed the provision of engineering, procurement and construction management for a 1500 kTA ethane cracker and five derivative units (LDPE, LLDPE, EO/MEG, Guerbet, Ziegler, ETO). The Ziegler unit was responsible for creating a variety of small chain alcohols via a proprietary reaction and extraction process.

Achievements:

• Completed all front end engineering (FEED) documents for the alcohol production unit including the following: PFDs, HMBs, material selection diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and designed over 50 pieces of equipment.

• Participated in two (30% and 60% completion) model reviews with the client with an emphasis on constructability.

• Actively led portions of the hazard and operability analysis (HAZOP) and layers of protection analysis (LOPA) with the client in order to assess the safety and risk of the proposed design. Fluor Corporation - Associate Process Engineer 12/2013 - 07/2014 Client:

RO Water KSA Project FEED

Overview:

Design and construction of a reverse osmosis unit production facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the production of 350,000 units/year. Process scope of work included a unit fabrication section as well as a high pressure membrane testing area.

Achievements:

• Completed FEED documents including: PFDs, HMB, P&IDs, Relief Valve Summaries, and equipment/instrument datasheets for the high pressure membrane testing section of the DOW RO water KSA Project.

• Won a companywide award for project excellence.

Fluor Corporation Associate Process Engineer 03/2013 - 11/2013 Client:

BP-Husky Refining LLC

Toledo Refinery Small Projects

Overview:

Refinery upgrade to use more diluted bitumen from the Husky pipeline from Canada; scope included a revamped crude-vacuum unit with new desalters; an upgrade of the coker unit; a new coker gas plant; a new amine unit and benzene stripper, various interconnecting piping and electrical systems; and a new substation. Achievements:

• Developed all FEED documents for a Coker Gas Plant.

• Successfully completed IFC P&IDs for a flare revamp sub-project on schedule.
