Reporting to the CEO, I am responsible for establishing and operating the MIS Department for this GSM Company. The MIS Department encompasses five units: the VAS Unit, the IN Unit, the Billing Unit, the Development & Applications Unit, and the Database Unit.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Liaise with vendors to select and implement the billing system, the process involves gathering requirements from the different departments and making sure these requirements were met by the billing vendor
Liaise with vendors to select and implement an ERP system
Develop and implement a data warehouse system
Select and implement an archiving system
Liaise and negotiate with vendors to implement licenses for Microsoft and Oracle products
Liaise with other departments to integrate products like the IN and the billing system or the ERP system with the billing system, etc …

Manage the smooth operation of both entities, the IN and the billing

Manage and handle all queries coming to the team
Test and launch Value Added Service “VAS” on both platforms

IT department for the first licensed GSM operator in the northern region of Iraq
Including the following divisions: Billing, roaming, Development, Infrastructure
& End User Support, and database Admin division.

Managing the in-house development of a Trouble Ticketing System “CRM” that interacted with the Huawei IN and switches for doing basic on line updates on subscribers’ profiles and displaying basic information about subscribers such as basic info, calls info, charges, etc…
Managing the in-house development of POS that replaced the one that was bought from an overseas vendor.
Managing the in-house development of a system that allowed Asiacell to provide a roaming service for its subscribers in the absence of a billing system.
Managing the development of a basic Data Warehousing System for the calls from both the IN and the MSCs.
