PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

CNC Programmer Manager Valk’s Machinery, Concord, ON 12/2008 to date

Large scale metal production facility supplying parts to manufactures of appliances and tools. Began as an operator of CNC machines, but completed a formal training program in 2008 to transition to CNC programmer.

• Write programs for CNC Machines

• Responsible for programming 3-axis, 4-axis, CNC Mill machines using MasterCAM

• Help with vendor selection of machining equipment, fixtures, perishable tooling, gauges and other equipment as necessary to be able to produce acceptable product to print or model.

• Monitor production of product to meet customer expectations and quoted cycle times.

• Use continuous improvement to enhance cycle times, production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.

• Coordinate production schedule and provide direction to workers for completion of job assignments and assure timelines are attained.

• Oversee team of six machinists to insure they are on task and executing designs correctly. Guide and train machinists on proper use of machines and programs.

• Support the training of new operators and suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve their goals.

• Responsible for ensuring that associates have the right tool to perform their job.

• Supervise and communicate with associates regarding job performance, expectations, attendance, breaks, discipline, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Approves and verifies accuracy of employee work hours and furnishes complete/correct production records.

• Operate various manual machines including milling machine, grinder & Lathe machine
