Prior to coming to Lee Memorial Health System in October of 2008, I was a travel nurse for 8 years. During that time I worked in a variety of hospitals not only in size but also in a variety of different nursing units. In all the positions, I cared mostly for the geriatric population. The units on which I worked were oncology, ortho. med/surgery, neurology, and the stroke unit. The stroke unit is a step down that cares for the acute phase of stroke. Also during that time, I was occasionally the charge nurse on the unit. Because neurology is where I have spent the most time it is my favorite and most comfortable. Skills that I am expert in handling are medication administration, physical assessment, iv insertion, patient care with ADL's,and being a patient advocate. The travel company I worked for was InteliStaf which is now known as Medical staff.

I am also a clinical instructor for Florida Southwestern College in Ft Myers for 6 years. This is a prn position of training student nurses in the hospital setting Part of caring for a stroke patient

is being certified in the NIHSS

I keep a current BLS and ACLS

certification

At this time I am now employed by LMHS in the staffing resource unit in the Super Pool, this means I go to all their hospitals. This is a positon that demands a flexable, well rounder individual
