House Hold Interviewer, Basic Education for Awareness, Reforms and Empowerment / Basic Education for Afghan Refugees (BEFARE) (June 2011 – Dec 2011)

Role Details
Collection of data through already identified and assigned households to be interviewed in a group of two.
Key responsibilities
Assisted with the collection of data as defined by United Nation High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) Pakistan funded project on “Population Profiling & Verification” to collect information about all members of identified Afghan households/communities residing in Afghan Refugee camps, urban localities and rural villages.
This was the world’s largest census exercise in terms of profiling ever conducted for refugees. Data collected and entered in the field through laptop computers and GPS devices. A tailored Interactive Data Entry System (IDES) was developed for this purpose.
Worked in close coordination with and report to the Field Supervisor on daily basis to conduct interviews of Afghan household members in rural, urban and camp communities according to a standard format/template of the household questionnaire.
Made daily field trips to the already identified afghan refugees under the supervision of Field Supervisor to collect data through interviewing refuges based on the standardized questionnaire developed as per UNHCR requirements.
Worked to collect data in pairs as with female colleagues in the teams to obtain their part of completed questions and its answers to be synchronized through IDES. The synchronized data was later on shared with the Data validators to be considered as being a single House hold/family Interviewed.
Demonstration of high level of team playing with in the group as well as with the refugees in order remain clear about the questionnaire.
Maintained the validity, accuracy, completeness and reliability of the data collected. Re-collected any data that was found to be inaccurate, incomplete or unreliable, as directed.
Regular field trips to one of the hardest terrains of KPK under `Field Team Supervisor` and `Data Validators` on a daily basis to inform of any security concerns, in the field of any kind, and the progress made.
Successfully completed the UNHCRs training of “International Protection Induction Program” as mandatory for working and serving BEFARe as an employee.
