Summary:
I am an AAT qualified Accountant who has spent the last three years gaining experience working in contractor and management accounting. My duties have included regular contact with clients, the preparation of financial statements and quarterly management accounts, the calculation VAT returns using the flat rate scheme and standard VAT scheme.
Being a hard working and determined individual, I always strive to be better and develop on a daily basis. My motivation is to ensure that I end every day satisfied with what I have achieved and it is this mindset that allows me to make regular improvements to my knowledge and performance.

Places for People is one of the largest property and leisure management, development and regeneration companies in the UK, owning or managing over 140,000 homes. Places for People is a not-for-dividend organisation and therefore all profits are re-invested back into the company.
In my current role I am the main Accountant for ‘Places for People Neighbourhoods’ which is the community services company within the Places for People Group. During my time with the company as a Trainee Accountant I have been working in the commercial services accounting team analysing the monthly performance compared to budgeted, and reporting back to management with explanations for any variances. As part of my role I am responsible for ensuring that monthly journals for prepayments and accruals are posted before month end. In addition to this, my tasks also include the preparation of the year-end accounts and providing support to the wider finance department where necessary, in particular preparing monthly capital reconciliations and recharging costs to other departments in the Group.

Danbro is a modern accountancy practice which covers the whole of the UK. They provide a wide range of accounting and taxation solutions to businesses throughout the UK. The accountancy department offers accountancy services as well as tax planning and pension advice for contractors working as employees through their own limited companies.
As an Accounts Assistant my role included the calculation of VAT returns for Limited Companies, preparing quarterly management accounts, analysing their performance and informing the directors of their current tax position. It was also part of my responsibility to ensure that all Year-end accounts, VAT returns, annual returns and all other client documentation were filed promptly and correctly.

While studying towards this qualification I covered topics regarding financial statements, budgeting, internal
controls and accounting systems, business tax, credit control, and I completed a six month project analysing the performance of a company, giving recommendations as to how the company could perform better in the future.
June 2016 AAT Advanced Diploma in Business Skills
This qualification included modules on working in teams, planning and delivering business communications, evaluating and improving your own performance, spreadsheet software, delivering a presentation, organising and facilitating meetings, developing commercial awareness and managing project finances.

Interests:
My main hobbies include going to the gym, riding my BMX bike and running. My love of the outdoors is what has motivated me to search for work in Australia. I also like to spend time where possible playing the guitar.
