Coordinated the Debtor-In-Possession reorganization of Queensland South Sea Pearl Company (QSSP was Queensland, Australia’s largest pearl farm and a legacy investment of Pharos Capital et al, see below). Manage all commercial and financial functions including sales, negotiations, A/R collections, budgets, and preparation of all accounts and reports to stakeholders and government authorities including various tax returns, etc.
Other Responsibilities & Key Achievements:
Development and execution of the business plan, capital structure and budget for the investment including extensive financial modeling
Marketed and raised circa AU$4,000,000 in secured financing for the investment and reorganization. Have since returned approximately 200% to investors with substantial value remaining.
Managed and oversaw all aspects of Company operations to ensure adherence with business plan including running remote farm sites, marketing products, working capital management, human resources, inventory control, liaising with various government agencies regarding leases, licenses, grants, tax credits etc., and financial reporting
Marketed and sold leases and licenses over two remote islands in separate vendor-financed arrangements. Collected all payments due. Marketed and sold over 150,000 Australian South Sea Pearls with a total value of over $8,000,000.
Secured over $375,000 in grants from various government agencies for research and development, indigenous employees, international marketing, etc. Successfully negotiated various favorable tax positions with the Australian Taxation Office.
Currently in the process of distributing remaining pearl stock to shareholders and winding up the Company with favorable results
