PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
SIEMENS ENERGY, Houston, Texas 2010-2016
Process/Manufacturing/Quality Engineer
Siemens Energy is a power generation company formed by the acquisition of the non-nuclear energy divisions of Westinghouse Electric Company by Siemens AG. The Houston Service Center inspects and repairs combustion turbines.
•Assumed control of the engineering portion of a SAP Integration Project bringing it back on track, coordinated development and submission of engineering data and repair processes, and trained engineers on SAP usage.
•Improved quoting and repair processes in the combustion basket department, moving the department from -$250K to break even in 4 months, and maintaining a consistent profit of approximately $1M.
•Performed Product and Process Qualifications (including repair process development, FMEA, and associated lean actions) for combustion basket, turbine vane, and turbine blade product lines.
•Performed lean events for the Combustion basket, turbine blade, and turbine vane departments, resulting in up to a 40% increase in throughput.
•Developed repair processes (created/updated product control plans, material repair documents, and inspection documents) as new or updated repair specifications were issued.
•Managed the identification of quality issues, performance of root cause analyses, and development and execution of corrective/preventive actions.
•Developed operation and maintenance procedures for EDM, laser welding, and laser cutting equipment.
SHAW ENERGY & CHEMICALS, Houston, Texas 2006-2010
Designer 4
Shaw Energy & Chemicals was a provider of a full range of process technology/equipment, project management, EPC, plant, and consulting services to the oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, and upstream industries.
•Created a tracking tool to speed up reporting time from weeks to minutes. This tool linked into database-driven applications (PDS, Smart Plant P&ID, Marian, in-house isometric tracker) and produced reports to follow piping lines/isometrics and critical properties and statuses from P&ID’s thru the 3D Model, and document issuance.
•Created a Piping Toolkit for forecasting and tracking of project data such as manpower usage, material quantities, and isometric drawing issuance schedules.
•Forecasted manpower usage, material quantities, isometric drawing issuance schedules, etc. for many projects.
•Assisted in the creation of a new isometric tracker to overcome the issues from the legacy version.
SIEMENS WESTINGHOUSE, Houston, Texas 2003-2006
Quality Engineer
Siemens Westinghouse is a power generation company formed by the acquisition of non-nuclear energy divisions of Westinghouse Electric Company by Siemens AG. The Houston Service Center inspects and repairs combustion turbines.
•Developed/administered a nonconformance reporting (NCR) database to record and track individually occurring nonconformances, and to show nonconformance trends, enabling corrective action.
•Developed dashboard metrics for Quality dept and plant based on corporate balanced scorecard and internal requirements. These included defect release, defect discovery, defects by department, etc.
•Facilitated root cause analyses and corrective action development on site and coordinated efforts with corporate and other locations.
•Facilitated monthly reviews of all open Corrective Action Requests with senior staff and affected personnel on site.
•Scheduled and managed major/minor internal audits.
