This is done by utilizing a Yokagawa DCS plus directing field operators through start-up, normal operations, and shut-down procedures including decisions on rate, pressure, and temperature of the main process stream and the subsystems. The subsystems also controlled simultaneously were : Steam (1500psi,545psi,50psi); Amine (hydraulic and steam driven turbines); Refrigeration (IP steam driven multi-stage centrifugal ammonia compressor used to control pressure/temperature relationship of three chillers, at three different pressures, for purification of the syngas stream.); Cryogenics ( slip stream of hydrogen syngas is purified by using the Joule Thompson effect at approximately -245 F); Gas Distribution System (600psi,250psi,50psi); Cooling water; and Pipeline injection. Other duties included Chairman Environmental Health and Safety committee, health and safety audits, safe work permit audits, conduct safety meetings once a quarter, Emergency response, and to participate in design standardization and implementation of operator training.
