SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Highly diverse skills and experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.

Results oriented in either a self-managed or team environment

Proven to be an innovative problem solver and easily adaptable

Very customer oriented in style and design philosophy

Quick study with outstanding analytic and communication skills

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND ACHIEVEMENTS

ENGINEERING

Reduced molding defects by over 95% by redesigning a transfer molding process leading to a 300% increase in local production and the building of a sister plant in Israel.

By using a CMM, I reduced blade changes for the trim & form machines from 3 times per shift to 1 time per day, reducing rejects by75% and a significant savings in time and manpower.

By integrating 2 pieces into 1 injection molded piece for aircraft seating, a $20,000 savings was gained.

A longtime customer saved significant assembly costs by my solving a chronic dimensional variation in their silicone aircraft pressure equalization valve during the compression molding process.

Introduced CAD and MoldFlow analysis to their abilities, which allowed us to design parts for injection molding, to produce a faster, more efficient molding cycle at a lower cost.

Designed the first all plastic water/fuel separator for Caterpillar diesel engines.

Participated in full implementation of QS9000 protocols at this injection molding facility.

Developed a practical, statistically valid sampling program to check 240,000 dozen golf ball cores and completed golf balls on a daily basis.

Designed and produced 4 different sets of wood golf clubs for international distribution

PLANNING/ORGANIZATION

Developed and directed the phase-in of the new transfer molding process at the U.S. plant.

Wrote the appropriation requests, and oversaw purchase of equipment, and installation of the equipment in the Israeli plant. and provided operating procedures and operator training.

Developed the data gathering system and published molding and defect data on a weekly basis.

OTHER SKILLS AND TRAINING

Experienced traveler in the U.S., the Far East, and Israel.

Quality training in GDT, TQM, Situational Leadership, Quality Circles, Quality Assurance Engineering, Statistical Analysis, and CMM operation and programming.

Computer literate with Microsoft Office, CadKey, SolidWorks, AutoCad, Inventor, and numerous internet applications

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Timco Aerosystems, LLC Mechanical Design Engineer

Specialist in plastic design and processes for redesign and upgrades to several styles of aircraft seating.

Assisted in assembly problem solutions and retrofitting of newly design parts.

Assisted other engineering areas in drawing updates and correction.

Redesigned and scaled down aluminum parts, and designed new parts from plastics that were previously made from aluminum.

Integrated several plastic parts from 2 parts to one, resulting in weight, cost, time, and assembly savings.

Alibar Enterprises, LLC Owner/President

Engaged in meeting with home designers and contractors to solicit work.

Subjected house and building plans to analysis of wind loads, uplift loads, seismic loads, ground condition, and building materials to make sure they met IRC, IBC and local and state building codes.

Provided the builder with a set of engineering plans detailing materials, anchors, footing sizes, etc. for the construction of the structure.

Had plans approved by the Building Code department.

Frequently visited the building sites for inspection and solution of problems found by the builder, the Code Inspectors, or myself.

Precision Southeast, Inc. Project Engineer

Introduced 3D CAD to design new products for customers, or redesign, customer designs to improve molding.

Introduced MoldFlow to decrease cycle times in existing parts and lower cycle times for new products resulting in increased revenue and customer satisfaction and loyalty.

This resulted in the ability to Rapid prototype, and led to the design of hundreds of parts from the automotive, gun, oil filter, consumer, appliance, and power tool industries, including the design of a 5-piece water/fuel separator for Caterpillar diesel engines.

Participated with the Sales group in meeting with customers to determine their needs, quoted piece prices, mold costs, helped determine process parameters, part certification, value added processes, and participated in troubleshooting at customer sites if necessary.

Vishay Sprague Manufacturing Engineer

Hired as a consultant to troubleshoot a transfer molding process for tantalum capacitors which was producing over 60% rejects for over 6 months.

Within 6 months, I had refined the process and with the addition of pre-molding plate heaters, reduced the reject rate to less than 1%.

Hired permanently to oversee the process, provide continuous improvement and expand the molding capability from 4 machines to 12 in the U.S. facility.

Oversaw the purchase and installation of 15 new molding machines and equipment for a plant in Israel, providing training for the new personnel.

Using a CMM to measure and qualify the molding plates for the capacitors, properly position cutting blades for the Trim&Form, resulting in a reduction of blade replacement from 3 times per shift to 1 time per day.

Additional duties included charting and reporting molding and reject data, performing various experiments in other areas of manufacturing, and assisting in the design of new products.
