As a member of the WIPT team I helped establish business rules, guidelines and the RMC set up. As supervisor of the RMC I was responsible for day to day operations and staffing. I have 17+ years experience in the Referral Management Center at Keesler Medical Center. I began in 1995 when the RMC was first implemented and had a staff of 2. Through the years as Lead Clerk the responsibilities and duties increased we grew to a staff of 8. In 2003, when DOD mandated that all MTFs have a Referral Management Center Keesler was a member of the pilot program which consisted of 11 MTFs. As Chief of the RMC and POC for the RMC Pilot Program I was instrumental in setting up the RMC as it is today at Keesler Medical Center with a staff of 12, processing approximately 4,000 referrals/month. In July 2005 the KMC Referral Management Center was named the "Model Referral Management Center" in the Air Force.
