Description:
Positive Train Control (PTC) refers to technology that is capable of preventing train-to-train collisions, over speed derailments, and casualties or injuries to roadway workers (e.g., maintenance-of-way workers, bridge workers, signal maintainers) operating within their limits of authority as a result of unauthorized incursion by a train. PTC is also capable of preventing train movements through a switch left in the wrong position.
Positive Train Control Requirements: A system designed to prevent train-to-train collisions, over speed derailments, incursions into established work zone limits, and the movement of a train through a switch left in the wrong position. It also consists of a Crash hardened Event Recorder.
Locomotive segment: It interfaces train management computer to display, radio system, GPS receiver, and event recorder and communication segment.
Office Segment: I-ETMS® Back Office Server (BOS), Interface to Dispatch System, high availability, fault-tolerant, scalable, platform to supports software and track database updates (Mobile Device Manager). It supports train initialization process and interoperability transitions. It maintains downloaded on-board system logs, communications server, dispatch system and other MIS systems.
Wayside Segment: Wayside Interface unit communicates with Monitored Wayside signal, monitored switch, other monitored devices and communication segment.
Communication Segment: Communicates and interfaces with Office Segment, Wayside Segment and Locomotive segment.
Responsibilities:
Coordinating with the offshore team and providing project updates.
Preparing Test plan and test cases for the Nearest Neighbor and End to End test cases.
Participating in the Field Integration Testing in the Yard Limits and Test areas.
Attending the Defect Triage Meetings.
Performing the LINN and LIEE testing and the Subdivision file testing.
Validating the EMP messages using the Wire shark Protocol analyzer tool.

Project Name : Performance Metrics Central
Client
CISCO Systems, USA.
Role
Team member
Organization
Tech Mahindra Services Limited, Hyderabad, India
Team Size : 5
Duration: 06/2007 to 03/2011.
Description:
PMC (Performance Metrics Central) is an online tool used to measure partner performance for various service programs. This tool offers one-stop visibility into service metrics. PMC collects raw data from various sources, then conducts analysis and calculations in order to present a set of service metrics indicating the performance of a partner from different perspectives (relative to service program goals and objectives). PMC enables partners to manage their service operations more efficiently by providing up-to-date information on their operational performance through these metrics.
It can be classified into 3 modules

Reporting
Administration
The reporting module of PMC 2.0 will provide capability for summary reporting, detailed reporting, and audit reporting to appropriate users. Reporting capability in PMC 2.0 is critical, since it allows partners to maintain their own data, track and measure their own performance, and take appropriate corrective action if necessary. This will ultimately benefit Cisco (through improved partner performance) and the partners themselves, which will be rewarded with more Cisco business and increased incentive payments.
