The presentation catalog contained many misplaced reports, dashboards and other BI objects that were stored in an unorganized and cluttered manner. The client’s objective was to consolidate a handful of subject areas that were used to build these reports down to just a few. My role was to consolidate nine subject areas down to three subject areas. I also consolidated several subject areas that were designated for internal use into one single subject area. In addition to subject area consolidation, I upgraded the OBIEE 11g version from 11.1.1.7.0 to 11.1.1.7.140715 in the DEV, QA and PROD environments. Calix project Mar 2011 – Jun 2013

OBIEE/ ETL Sr. Developer

This engagement pertained to the OBIA customization. My responsibilities were in the areas of ETL development and meta data customizations.

I was involved in building the technical solution for the Booking Single Source of Truth (Bookings SSOT) – Data Model. This booking is known as a purchase order (PO) from an approved customer or reseller approved by Sales Force Dot Com (SFDC). The ETL mappings from the OLTP source database was migrated to Operational Data Store, which in turn became the source for all my OBIA customizations that were eventually migrated to the OLAP target warehouse.

Bookings SSOT – Customization of OOTB (out-of-the-box) analytics application for Supply Chain and Order Management involved in capturing the booking order lines at transactional audit grain. The challenge to this requirement is in EBS order management transactions were captured at order line level but were updated on a daily basis. Previous updates were eventually lost by order management system; however, the business required that the transaction update audit was captured. This customization was done in EBS events view where the audit data was tracking the transaction updates. Custom views were developed from events view to capture this data. My responsibility was to integrate the custom view transactional audit data from events view with the out-of-the-box bookings data.

Environment: OBI Applications 7.9.6.4, Informatica Powercenter 9.0.1. DataWarehouse Administration Console 10g Oracle, Clients were installed on Windows

Interacted with business users to identify business groups and assign security groups to folders

Successfully configured Windows ADSI security in the Administration Console

Participated in Business Requirement Documents review, Functional Requirements Documents Data Model Reviews to understand the requirements and to prepare the necessary design documents accurately.

Involved in building the ETL mappings from Source to Target to load data into Data warehouse.

Using Informatica PowerCenter created and extended sales order bookings and line facts and dimension mappings and mapplets to transform the data according to the Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), preparing high and low level design documents.

Responsible for monitoring sessions that are running, scheduled, completed and failed using Informatica Power Center 9.0.1

Fixing load errors by analyzing the session and workflow logs and resolving the errors due to duplicate data from source, index creation failures and space issues.

Optimized SQL in source qualifier to reflect the additional audit data in the mappings and mapplets.

Modified target sales order lines and sales booking lines fact tables to contain additional line level metrics.

Parsed high-level design specification to ETL coding and mapping standards.

Used various transformations like Filter, Expression, Sequence Generator, Update Strategy, Joiner, Stored Procedure, and Union to develop robust mappings in the Informatica Designer.

Developed many complex mappings and mapplets using various transformations (Source Qualifier, Joiner, Update Strategy, Lookup, Rank, Expressions, and Aggregator) for loading the data into Data Warehouse.

Writing PL/SQL routines to validate the Data Warehouse data and also reporting/dashboards

Customization of workflow sessions and tasks to reflect my mapping customizations

DAC customization to include my custom workflows, customization and generation of parameter files.

Monitoring and resolving DAC load errors to complete the DAC load successfully.
