EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

I am having Master of Welding Engineering degree with Distinction from University of Wollongong, Australia, and, acquired about 30 years of diversified experiences in Oil and Gas industries involved in Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication/Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) projects. I have specialization on Welding & NDT, and able to provide service on weld joint design, welding micro-structure and failure analysis, teaching and education in addition to regular welding engineering, fabrication, and inspection services such as, preparation of welding procedure specification (WPS), welding inspection etc. I am also having in-depth knowledge and experience on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).

I am an IRCA Registered Auditor for QMS, and having experience in developing quality management plans/ programs, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management within the organization. I am having adequate experience in conducting internal audit to all department/disciplines of the organization and coordinating with external certifying agency (like, Lloyds, BV, DNV, ABS etc.) on external audits

During my career, I assumed various roles on Welding and Quality with the following primary responsibilities:

Welding:

Lead the team of Welding Engineers, Welding Inspectors, Welding Foreman and Welders engaged in the huge fabrication shop of SMOE PTE Ltd

Study of various types of Engineering Materials (ferrous and non-ferrous metals) and their weldability properties, perform quality assurance on welding design, study the needs for various Welding Procedures for the Project and prepare the Welding Plan.

Review the stresses, develop the weld joint design, review the joint design and joint detail, advise change requests and modifications etc.

Review Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and develop welding specifications for the Project, analysis of existing weld procedures, preparation and testing of new/additional weld procedures.

Develop welding training plan for the Welding Engineers/Inspectors, Prepare training study materials and course programs, conduct the training, and take the examination.

Participate/Conduct inter-departmental and departmental meeting, Prepare presentation materials for the meeting.

Provide technical knowledge and guidance to the engineers/inspectors and guide them in implementing welding processes in the project work.

Conduct failure analysis in joint collaboration with third party organization like DNV, BV or with local universities. Also, perform weld defect analysis, evaluate the defect trends, and provide suggestion to preventive and corrective actions.

Evaluate Welding requirements at bidding stage of the project.

Be the focal point for liaising with customers, engineers/inspectors and manufacturing/production groups on welding related matters on a daily basis.

Provide training to welders on preventing weld failures.

Assist with technical expertise to support all kinds of welding execution.

Coordinate with Certifying Authority for coordination on all welding certification matters.

Quality:

Lead the quality team (a group of Quality Engineers/Inspectors), Conduct quality orientation and quality awareness program for all employees through presentation and workshops.

Perform root cause analysis on quality observations and noncompliance, applying an appropriate and proven problem-solving methodology(s) involving cross-functional teams (where appropriate), and develop statistical analysis on the trends of findings, and thereby provide recommendations for improvements and effective solutions to prevent recurrence.

Participate in the meetings, internal (inter-organization) and external (customer) as an active representative to communicate and exchange needs and requirements on quality management system.

Drive steady improvement efforts to evaluate opportunities for improvements in organization’s operating process, cost and product quality.

Analyse the training needs, and thereby, conduct quality training with view to develop and continual improvement of the quality culture in the organization.

Analyse the customer satisfaction surveys and feedback, and provide recommendation and improvement proposal on customer’s concerns/feedback.

SMOE is Singapore based EPCIC company with specialisation in Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication & Construction, Installation and Commissioning of OFFSHORE Works such as TOPSIDES, PLATFORMS, FLOWLINES, PROCESS PIPING etc. It has huge fabrication yard at Singapore, Indonesia and China. It is a pioneer fabrication yard in Singapore, which deals with piping works of various exotic materials like Duplex, Super Duplex, Titanium, 6Mo, Aluminium etc. It has also specialization of welding thick of high strength Structural Steels and super duplex stainless steels. Our shop (SMOE Pte Ltd) is an ISO 3834 Certified. Its regional network includes operations in Malaysia, Indonesia and China.

1. Just completed (06 Jun’2016) EPC of Ivar Aasen Topside pdQ of

Det Norske Oljeselskap ASA ( DN).

Ivar Aasen is oil field and is located in block 16/1 between the Sleipner and Grane fields in the North Sea. Ivar Aasen has also gas caps which may lead to high producing gas-oil-ratio in a period until the gas cap gas is produced. Partially processed hydrocarbons will be sent to the Edvard Grieg platform for final processing and export. Ivar Aasen operated by Det norske oljeselskap ASA holding 35% interest. The other license partners are Statoil (50%) and Bayerngas (15%).

3. PTTEPI's Zawtika Processing Development Project, Phase 1A

(Processing Platform integrated with Living Quarter module).

The Zawtika Project is a gas field development project located in

the Gulf of Moattama, Myanmar. The development area covers

Block M9 and small portion of Block M11, owned by Myanmar Oil

and Gas Enterprise (MOGE). The field lies approximately 300 Km

south of Yangon and 290 Km west of Tavoy on the Myanmar

coast and the average water depth of 135 ~ 160 meters.
