PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE (3 years 2 months)
S.T. Electricals Pvt. Ltd, Junior Quality Engineer May 2011 - June 2014 Pune, India
Six Sigma Project: Worked with an interdisciplinary team and implemented DMAIC methodologies – Pareto chart, Process map, Root cause analysis, FMEA, Design of Experiments(DOE) and successfully eliminated oil leakage problem in transformers which saved rework cost by 40%
Car seat mounting bracket: Worked with APQP team as a Quality engineer and conducted all required activities for new product/process development and prepared PPAP package for customer approval
Used Vernier caliper for measuring bracket and flange dimensions for validation and submitted its reports to the Quality manager
Involved in improvement of manufacturing activities such as sheet metal fabrication, stamping, welding and tooling
Statistical process control(SPC): Created Control charts to checked variation in the manufacturing process of flanges and calculated process capability(CPK) of flange manufacturing machines using Minitab
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T): Verified, checked and validated blueprints of flanges and seat mounting brackets as per ASME Y14.5 -2009 standards
Implemented CAPA to prevent failure in flanges and seat bracket and monitored the manufacturing process
Negotiated with suppliers and subcontractors for final quotation
Performed PFMEA on assembly and manufacturing processes of transformer
Assisted in supplier selection by conducting supplier evaluation audits and also maintained supplier score cards
Maintenance of transformers by implementing Poka-Yoke which helped in visual detection of oil leakage
Designed and implemented 5S on shop floor which reduced workload and human errors
Implemented JIT method and saved the cost of HV and LV coils warehousing by $10k annually
Redesigned stamping and stacking process of core and reduced throughput time by 3 hours for per installation
Conducted internal and supplier audits to drive process standardization, cost reduction, waste elimination and continuous improvement
Diagnosed and resolved technical issues of supplier in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
Designed and worked on tooling of jigs and fixtures as per requirements of transformers
Designed various transformers as per the customer requirements using SolidWorks Savinay S Kalbandhe

“Development of a system to avoid patient bed falls in hospitals”(Product Development) Fall 2014
There were a large number of deaths and serious injuries due to bed falls which is a serious issue.
Designed a bed with sensors which would track patient’s movement while sleeping and take necessary action to save them from falling
This system is an excellent option to curb the number of deaths in hospital due to bed falls.
“Troubleshoot defects in manufacturing of clutch plates” Spring 2015
All four keyways of the clutch plates were not stamped to correct depths causing problem while assembling.
Analyzed the data and created CTQ, Project charter to quantify the problem and Fishbone Diagram for RCA.
Created control charts, calculated the process capability, tracked the entire manufacturing process and suggested the proper control methods to reduce defects
“Implementation of Six Sigma tools” Spring 2015
The circuit board manufacturer had problem with lifetime of circuit board, there were defective circuit boards and need to check which printer is capable of producing result within specification limit.
Analyzed the given data to create X bar R control charts to observe any inconsistency in given life expectancy of circuit board.
Created P Chart to check the proportion of non-conforming circuit boards and also find the process capability to check if stencil printer works within specification limits.
“Quality analysis on bolt manufacturing company” Spring 2015
There was a huge variation in bolt manufacturing and their specification was not meeting the customer requirements of height and diameter of bolts.
Created X bar R charts from the data of bolt diameter and height to check if there is a variation in the manufacturing process
Calculated the process capability of both the machines of diameter and height and found out the faulty machine.
“Simulation of Jazzman’s Café queue in Binghamton University” Spring 2015
Jazzman’s was experiencing the revenue loss due to large waiting time of the customer
We ran the simulation for arrival time and inter arrival time of the customers on all servers and also created process flow map
We then suggested the modified operation for the servers to reduce the waiting time of the customer
“Supplier Selection and Supply Chain Network Design at DRAN Engineers Pvt Ltd.” Fall 2015
There was a need to choose an optimum supplier for the company and to optimize the supply chain network in order to reduce the overall cost.
Used an ANP software for optimum supplier selection and designed an optimum supply chain network to reduce the overall supply chain cost which included the cost of transportation, plant operation, material handling. AISSMS’ College of Engineering, Pune, India
“Developed and designed a handy voltage regulator”
Designed a circuit and implemented it on a Printed circuit board and solder all the components as per the circuit design to build a voltage regulator.
“Development of Heat recovery system to improve efficiency of machines”
(Product development)
Developed a system to recover heat from different type of heat dissipating machine for conversion.
Recovered heat, then converted into electrical energy for re utilization to increase efficiency of machine.
