PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am a very organized, emotionally conscious, considerate nurse. I was programmed to be an office nurse. Interacting with patients from within my community is such an important role. My favorite activity as a nurse is problem solving and being an advocate for the patient while engaging in professional based educational communication with my patients. I am very diligent in all that I do. I have made the president’s list at Herzing University for the last four semesters by maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I am doing classes online to obtain my certification in Billing & Coding. I prefer to find a problem and research that problem until I discover a satisfactory outcome. I would absolutely be an excellent candidate for a work from home position, home health, or medical office nursing. I am extremely confident in my educational background and professional skills. I have been a nurse for 19 years, completed all pre-requisites for the BSN program and plan to continue my education as a personal goal to gain as much knowledge as possible for my career field.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

For me personally, caring for patients in their homes has become a new, exhilarating experience. At Maxim Home Health, the entire 8-10 hour shift is spent with one patient. I was the sole care giver during that particular shift. The daily routine may include trach and feeding tube care, catheterization, administering medications, preparing meals, daily hygiene, making appointments for the patient, and any other requirements or requests of the patient.

Total Care and Support of My Father, Milton, KY LPN Nov 2009-May 2012

Beyond any other experience I hold caring for the elderly, of 10 years before this event, I do consider this to me my highest accomplishment, thus far. Throughout my Father’s last three years I was his soul care-giver, POA, full-time nurse, decision-maker, and comfort. He suffered from severe Rheumatoid Arthritis for over thirty years. I was able to manage all his medications, resources to assist in his care and financial matters.

King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison, IN

LPN/ General Office Clerk, Oct 1998 – Feb 2009

As an LPN and General Office Clerk, in a busy medical office, I had many responsibilities. These included: registering patients into the computer, filing and organizing medical records, triaging calls, performing precise triage practices, arranging specialty appointments, phlebotomy, giving immunizations, allergy shots, and numerous other injections, preparing school and CDL physicals, assisting the physician with minor surgeries, and detailed patient care in both areas. I am very detail oriented and motivated in patient education and care.
