HCSC is the largest customer-owned health insurer in the United States and fourth largest overall.
Plans are available for the following States Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma. BlueChip is HCSC’s premier claims adjudication application, receiving over 115 million claims per month. BlueChip determines eligibility and benefits for electronically- and directly-entered Institutional and Professional claims. This includes local claim volumes, National Accounts, Blue Card, as well as claims sent to, or received from, outside Adjudicators, such as Labor Funds, other BCBS plans, and the Federal Employee Program (FEP).
The BlueChip suite is comprised of 71 applications, utilities and functions. Real-time and Direct Data Entry (manual) claims are processed through the following functions: Registration, Eligibility, Document Begin, Claim Level, Service Level, Accums, Claim Release and Document End. Claims are subjected to various edits, before payment determination is made across all lines of business. Adjudication concludes with a batch processing cycle. BlueChip application components are being re-engineered as part of the CCSP program and also working on Modernized Accum conversion project where all the Data from VSAM file is been converted to XML format and passed to Java for further processing and end results are stored in a UI ledger.

HAL is an insurance contract administration system used for underwriting, issuing, billing, maintaining, collecting, and claims for fixed annuity, life insurance and health products.
USAA Life Company began migrating from a vendor application to HAL in 1991 and concluded in 2001. HAL is the heart and soul for Life. It is a mainframe application (green screens) which was built to perform all contract maintenance. HAL was designed and implemented prior to the launch of usaa.com and any member self-service initiatives.

Ad-hoc reporting is a type of reporting where we are able to generate the reports based on the customers need. These applications getting Inbounds from various applications do further process to feed data to other applications. The work involves enhancement, support and implementation for Horizon.

Directs is a type of Claim processing which is categorized to the following two types:
Standard Directs: This involves the receiving the Paper claims, adjudication by the Telepaid system, Processing of the claims and reimbursement.
Paid Directs: Members pay the full cost. If the cost in the paper claims submitted by the members and that given in the electronic claims submitted by the Pharmacist matches then the claims will be paid. Managed Care: Managed care is the cost effective and Preventive care.

Description of the Project:
This project was developed by Xansa (India) Ltd., Pune. The normal Credit Card Processing goes through following life Cycle.
Customer Request for a credit card.
Credit History of the customer is checked. If it is good, credit card is issued.
All Master databases are updated with customer’s details. A billing cycle is fixed which is a day in a month when customer’s billing will be done. Credit limit is reached.
Physical credit card is send to the customer. Card is accompanied with a card carrier, which contains the details like customer name, address, account number, validity of card etc.PIN is generated and sent to the customer.
Once card and PIN are received, customer can do the transactions. Transactions can be of various types like credit, debit, reversal, charge back etc. The transactions are recorded in a table.
On the billing day, statement of transactions is generated. It can contain various messages, which are basically advertisement campaigns.
The customer has an option of paying the ‘Minimum Amount Due’. In this case, the remaining amount will attract the standard interest rate.Once the expiry date of any card is close, a new card will be generated and sent to the customer.

The activities of library are identified to have the following entities.
Member - The people utilizing the resources in the Library.
Books - The main Knowledge resource.
Publisher - One who publishes the books.
Author - One who builds the knowledge resource.
After doing all the updating and modification we are preparing the report depending upon the page where the details about the member will be located as well as period wise report also be generated.

Description of the project:
The Quotation System contains both Online and Batch System. Online System is developed using COBOL, CICS and DB2. BMS Macros are used to design the screens. Online System is used to key-in new Quotations, to update existing Quotations, to query an existing Quotation and to list all the quotations acquired by a Executive. The Batch System is developed using COBOL and DB2. JOBs are created as PROCs. Batch System is mainly used to send details of New Quotations to Production Department and to receive completed orders from the Production Department. Reports are also generated.
