Since Al took over the management of the supplier quality team. He has done a great job with managing the team, mentoring the SQE’s and making sure that the work gets complete so the factory does not have any down time. Al does well to keep the upper management team informed of all the issues and corrective actions put in place with suppliers an issue in the past. Al communicates well with his team and suppliers. Al has helped the SQE team in settling down after a rocking stint under the previous Manager. He has a 2 hour team meeting every week to review issue and keep everyone involved in improving the SQE team.
Last year Al made several important contributions to the organization. He participated in several key supplier escalations last year: Z Brake issue with Mag 7, Dirty Mag 8 arms for our customer ASM, Encoder issues on Mag 8, Mag 7 bearing issues, Vessel finishing issues, and many more. His flexibility and availability to be where ever we need him is a great asset to the group.
He drove several critical qualifications Henry filter, magnets for motors and the plastic base for compressors. Al participated in numerous cost reduction projects and qualifying new suppliers.
Al is respected by his peers and the management team that depends on him to work with suppliers to execute the material verification process that enables operations to build with known good items. Al is a team player who truly believes in getting to the root cause of issues and resolving them. His attitude is always of one to please
It is a pleasure to recommend him for Employment; I consider his leaving Brooks a Major loss

If you were allowed only one person to work with suppliers while having the ability to work with internal Engineering, not be timid when it comes to getting your hands dirty and still be able to speak to the specifics of critical process, Al would be your guy. Over the years Al has developed the savvy of when to speak and when to hold his tongue (I could learn from this). He has perfected the art of digging into a process to unravel a mystery while maintaining a relationship with the supplier that promotes teamwork. I could not even begin to list the number of accomplishments that Al has contributed to although I will state he has been a positive impact on each and every work cell of Brooks. We are not afraid to march Al to battle at a seconds notice and he is not afraid to charge. Al has been Integral to the success of the Supply chain and is adept at balancing his approach to build Supplier relationship while motivating the supplier to be successful at the immediate issue. His ability to multitask is a key attribute, which has been demonstrated numerous times during unprecedented business ramps though which he has been successful in helping mitigate the quality impact from our supply base.
