Lead all aspects of the appraisal team (field and desk staff, Photo, IA, and DRP), the Total Loss, Fire & Theft, and Salvage teams through analyzing reports and making necessary workflow adjustments and staffing allocation

oThrough centralization of Total Loss and workflow enhancements within the claims team, we were able to reduce our average total loss cycle time down 18 days and reduce the average aging salvage inventory by 100 days.

oWith workflow enhancements and collaboration with the adjusting teams, we were able to reduce our IA usage from 16% in 2015 to 8.5% in 2016 and maintain our average Total Cost of Repair against inflationary pressures to within <1% of 2015.

Lead ongoing and new projects to improve upon our competitive advantage by decreasing cycle times and improving estimate severity, Loss Ratio, and total cost of appraisal

oReinstated the salvage team and eliminated a title review third party vendor to provide quicker review of total loss paperwork and adjudication of total loss claims

oDue to lost mail and delays in transferring documents from one office to another, segregated the total loss mail into a separate mailroom where the salvage technicians are located.

oWorked in conjunction with our IT team to determine the business events required from CCC to match and enhance the current business needs of Direct General

oTo properly manage the total loss adjudication, developed task buckets of the claim life cycle and created Guidewire ClaimCenter fields which fed into the data warehouse for identifying ready to settle claims along with claims which needed further involvement to bring to settlement.

oEliminated a third party vendor reviewing and approving Independent Appraisal estimates and brought the reviews in-house. This eliminated additional Loss Adjustment Expenses while allowing a more thorough review of IA estimates and reducing the Total Cost of Repairs.

Obtained RFPs, negotiated contracts, and managed performance of vendors:

oMoved from IAA to Copart to enhance our salvage speed to sale with negotiated storage and pool fees

oTo enhance our usage of photo estimating and reducing Loss Adjustment Expenses, negotiated for expanded photos to accurately condition a total loss vehicle while reducing the cost of each assignment

Evaluate metrics and trending that impact appraisal severity in both estimated and paid (repairable and total loss) and salvage recovery

Monitor appraisal and adjuster productivity and closing ratios to ensure productivity against new incoming volume, budgeting, and CAT handling
