SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Lean / Continuous Improvement: Established continuous improvement programs consisting of Lean HUBS, Visual Management, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, and other waste reduction programs in partnership with other areas of the organization. Conducted training workshops on change management and team building. Current efforts are establishing Lean / Continuous improvement strategies in an Electric & Gas Utility company. RESULT: Established Lean programs in 3 separate organizations.
Software Upgrades: Represented Distribution Center employees’ needs and concerns in upgrading to Manhattan Associates WMS software with project costing $3.4 million. Existing software out of date with vendor threatening to discontinue support. As lead manager responsible for processes, incorporated some of current processes and designed new processes to fit the new software. Wrote training material and managed the training of the distribution team. Coordinated new DC processes with manufacturing. RESULT: Implemented software on time and on budget.

Warehouse Design: Redesigned warehouse and distribution operations for company experiencing huge losses in revenue because of inefficiencies. As warehouse inventory contained snack foods, with short life span, items must be shipped as soon as possible and within manufacture date sequence. Company losing approximately $50,000 per month in product loss and productivity losses. Redesigned warehouse to follow pick sequence, combined computer method with physical layout of racks, established locations based on product flow, designed VNA to replace double stacked floor pallets, updated rack labeling to take advantage of RF guns in use. Moved overstock packaging to rear of warehouse, established wave picking to reduce number of times location visited by warehouse personnel. Dispositioned discontinued packaging, which added more warehouse space and added VNA racking to finished goods warehouse. RESULT: Improved picking and loading efficiency of warehouse from 75% to 95% and increased by 40% amount of space in finished goods warehouse.
Doctoral Dissertation: Conducted research on the relationship unclear corporate performance goals, unclear metrics, and a lack of a clear future state definition has on lean implementation failures.
