Duties & Responsibilities:

oReading blueprints and layout specifications, designs and plans to determine machine adjustments and material requirements

olay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met

oset up and operate fabricating machines, such as hydraulic bending tables, rolls, shears, plasma cutters, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, or other form and assemble metal components

oset stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule or template

o position, align, fit and weld parts to form complete units or subunits

overify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, measuring tapes and a quality assurance check

oposition pieces against tops or aligns layout marks with die or blade

omove parts into positions, manually or with a hoist
