Welder/Fitter Combo, UT Inspector

Trinity Industries - Steele, AL - June 2006 to May 2016 I started in 2006 as a welder 1 for 2yrs. Then I became a welder 2 & Fitter Combo for 3yrs. I can read any type of blue prints also, including fast track prints. Then I got my certification for UT,VT welding inspector for 3yrs. Then I went back to the fit& weld department for 2yrs. Thermite welder

Bankhead railway services - Atlanta, GA - March 2000 to April 2006 I was a thermite welder for bankhead railway for 6 yrs. I pulled spikes to prep for the welding process on the tracks, then I cut a 1" gap in the rail for a good weld to pour through. After that I build the molds around the track and pack around it with sand or clay so the weld doesn't pour out. After the weld is made I grind the sides and surface the tops of the welds for a smooth finish, then I drive the spikes back down with a sledge hammer or a spike mal.

I visually inspected all welds on the power pole sections (Bases, Mids,& Tops). Then I UT'd all 100% welds to make sure they passed all specs.
