During my first week on board of Mein Schi 2 as a bike guide, I got to know of the position as a Marine Environmental O cer. From that time on I was fascinated about the job possibility and and still am. Thus upon completion of my contracts as a bike guide and in the beginning of 2017 as a Sanitation O cer on Mein Schi 1, I decided to apply for this position. I completed my university degree in Environmental Science with a strategic focus on Environmental Management in October 2014 and received my certificates in February 2015. Featured with those documents I started to look for employment in the field of Environmental Management. To keep me busy until finding a work meeting my expectations I started working at TUI Cruises as a bike guide. As a Sanitation O cer I am coming closer to the target but there is still space to develope. On board I was deeply impressed of the powerful working atmosphere and became thoroughly acquainted with the duties, life and people on a cruise ship. I was also able to meet with the Environmental O cer and Human Resource manager on board and learned about the job-related skills and duties of an Environmental O cer accurately. Both colleagues encouraged me to apply for the position as soon as I depart from the vessel. Taking my previous experience on a cruise ship into account I am prepared at best to work on a cruise ship without doubt. On top of that the work of a Marine Environmental O cer, who is not only responsible for the environmental procedures, but also needs to be an expert for all environmental equipment onboard, matches my qualifications perfectly, thanks to my education within Environmental Science. First practical experience in the field I made as an intern in the department of Environmental Management for the internationally operating German automotive part supplier Hella KGaA Hueck
& Co. There I learned waste management plays an important role for the job as an Environmental O cer. My area of responsibility included the improvement of the waste disposal of an entire manufacturing plant. During my time with the company the waste separation and waste disposal were revised and updated.
These experiences in mind, I am greatly looking forward to challenge myself with the position of an Environmental O cer and with great dedication I would like to start job as soon as possible. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
