Provided leadership for 14 in house staff and 18+ contracted professionals with a $5.4MM annual operating budget and a $4.4MM capital budget. The infrastructure included over 40+ locations across North America serving over 1,800 users with 800+ desktops and laptops, 1,700 wireless devices and 200+ physical and virtual servers located in 2 datacenters.

Managed the $1.6MM technology infrastructure split of 2 railroad companies including active directory, email, servers (physical and virtual), storage, data centers and phone systems.

Developed and implemented a Time and Attendance system integrated with SAP Payroll. Delivered an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system with Biometrics integrated into the SAP Time module which automated time collection and overtime, vacation and other guarantee time calculations. The implementation resulted in a reduction of labor costs of over $1.3 MM per year.

Led completion of infrastructure deployment for a new company wide revenue system (RMI). Project included: deployment of kiosk PC, wireless connected tablets, wide area network or internet connection; replacement/upgrade to the customer service CISCO telephone system; and the design, development and testing of an account receivable/revenue SAP/RMI interface.

Implemented a Telecom Expense Management system consolidating wireless, landlines, wide area network and long distance expenses under a single outsource provider. Combined with a new expense management process, realized a companywide telecom expense decrease of over $300K per year.

Negotiated numerous hardware, software, service and telecom agreements including Microsoft, CISCO, SAP, SAS, Commvault, Halogen, AT&T, Verizon and TWT. Renegotiation of Microsoft Enterprise Agreement resulted in $350K of savings over 3 years.

Sponsored numerous SAP 6.0 related business improvement projects including the implementation of Collections and Dispute Resolution, Business Warehouse and Business Planning and Consolidation, New General Ledger, Employee Self Service and new Tax Depreciation books. The projects resulted in a reduction of accounts receivable days outstanding, more accurate and faster budgeting and forecasting, IFRS compliance and a $42M taxable income reduction.

Provided leadership for 5 in house staff and 3+ contracted professionals with a $1.3MM annual operating budget and 200+ users in the US and Canada.

Completed a 9 month $1.4MM SAP 4.6c to ERP 6.0 technical upgrade which included a database migration from Unix/Oracle to Windows/SQL, an upgrade of the Virsa tools to SAP GRC 5.3 and the virtualization of the entire SAP server landscape. Completed on schedule and 7% under budget.

Negotiated a 3 year remote SAP Basis support agreements including a server hardware refresh and in-hosting migration which resulted in a 68% reduction in monthly support costs.

Implemented the initial Virsa/SAP Segregation of Duty software Compliance Calibrator, Firefighter and Access Enforcer which provided real-time security workflow/compliance. Completed on time and on budget.
