Further developed my skills by becoming certified in TIG stainless steel and Low Temp Carbon Steel welding. I was promoted to Superintendent/ Project Manager and primarily worked for Hess and Chevron. My duties grew to include everything from consulting, design, drafting, planning, bidding, fabrication, hydro testing and installation of various projects. I have been responsible for Chevron field work in the Hobbs/ Buckeye/ Eunice Areas and have been awarded all the Pre-Turnaround work for the Chevron CO2 plant in Buckeye, NM.

Co-owned a small business that rebuilt oil well fishing tools. This requires brazing tungsten carbide on the tools and grinding/machining them in a lathe to the customer’s specifications and tolerances.

Responsible for the design collaboration, repair and manufacture of custom pulling units, derricks and other oil field equipment in the shop as well as field work. Troubleshoot, recognize, and implement a safe plan to correct structural deficiencies, improper setup, or unacceptable environmental conditions in emergency situations while preserving equipment and assets. Work sometimes included welding on exotic metals, e.g. stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron, brazing and other alloys. Working at locations over 100 ft. was sometimes required. I was the shear and brake operator for approximately 5 years and was responsible for training and supervising other operators and welders.
Education
1994 graduate of R-5 High School in Grand Junction, Colorado. While in high school, I attended a vocational welding school and was at the top of my class.
