Objective

I am seeking a position in the field of sound design as I build a career in the creation and management of live events and sound for movies, radio and television. I intend to wok as a member of a creative team with responsibility for development of scores, tracks, sound effects and other sound elements of the finished product.

Experience

Experience at SCAD 2015-2016

Assistant/understudy to sound manager for Savannah Stopover festival (March 14-156, 2016)

Development of a series of audio-visual podcasts on motorcycle travel in South America.

Creation of post-production sound effects and dialogue recording in student projects.

Management of location sound recording on set in three student movie projects.

Recording of special effects including ambient sound and hard effects in monaural and stereo sound.

Creation of post-production dialogue recordings for animation and live action excerpt.

Management of on-site conference recording and posting to web site of three-day conference (St. John’s Church, Savannah).

Real Estate Consulting and Development 1987-2015

Management of a consulting firm (Thomas Point Associates, Inc.) addressing redevelopment of urban neighborhoods and properties (1991-2015), with responsibility for over 250 assignments in 39 sates 3 overseas locations. Responsible for management of 5-10 personnel and annual project budgets of $2-3 million.

Skills

Extensive experience with hiring, training and management staff and production of complex consulting assignments. Proven verbal and written communications skills in preparation of proposals and management of client relationships. Experience with Protools audio production software and Logic, Ableton Live and Reason music software. Knowledge of studio and location sound equipment and processes including speakers, cables and microphones.
