Clinical Nurse Trainee and Reliever at The Doctors’ Hospital Inc., Bacolod City Intensive Care Unit
-Served as a Registered Nurse Volunteer/ Reliever assigned in the Intensive Care Unit of a 150-bed capacity Hospital. Continuously involved in specialized nursing care and management of patients who are critically ill which includes but not limited to continuous and close monitoring/ assessment, planning and evaluating nursing care to maintain effective patient care in collaboration with other members of the Health care team.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
•Accept responsibilities delegated by the Head Nurse.
•Receive and provide endorsements every shift.
•Assess and monitor patient closely and accurately with sound clinical judgment
•Identify and report any untoward developments for immediate management.
•Report diagnostic results especially those showing abnormal values for appropriate management.
•Orient and secure written consent, if needed, from patient to family members for any medical, surgical, nursing or diagnostic procedures.
•Act as a patient advocate and provide assistance to patient and family in terms of decision making processes by providing education and support.
•Perform efficient bedside nursing care and interventions.
•Show competence in the application of advance Cardiopulmonary life support in emergency cases.
•Assist consultants and Resident-on-duty during rounds and procedures.
•Create and maintain therapeutic environment for the patient.
•Facilitate and follow up referrals promptly.
•Proper and complete documentation of information pertaining to patients' health condition.
