Project Experience

1.Pitney Bowes (2013 – Present) Client Project

Pitney Bowes is a manufacturing giant for Global Mailing solutions spread across US, UK and much other geography. We at our Development Center in Wipro were responsible to roll out new changes, developments and day to day support for production system. Apart from this, yearly maintenance, System Upgrades and DR Tests are the activities to be taken care.

Duration: 2013 to Present

Responsibilities in Pitney Bowes Account:

Currently leading all Projects from Customer Location at Danbury, CT.

Application Development and Support (AMS) role for 1 Year.

As a Support Team member, required to work and monitor the Production Environment for stability and continued services to Pitney Bowes Customers. This also included working on Incidents, Problem Tickets and Batch Failures.

Solely responsible for all the changes deployed in the production environment.

Production support for all the new and existing developments.

Assist and guide the team members in incident resolving, troubleshooting of complex issues, driving priority incidents and escalations to closure.

Perform Incident management, Problem management and Change management activities.

Mentor for new team members in the projects.

Developer for new projects for 3 Years.

Few Projects in Pitney Bowes:

I. Credit Card encryption project

Hosting a system for transaction Processing, Tandem is required to store/log card details for all the customer transactions. Prior to CC Encryption Project, All the credit cards information was saved without being encrypted in Database.

This Project was to develop new modules to encrypt-decrypt all the Credit cards before storing in Database.

This included conversion of existing large Customer Data, migrating existing customers to new database, changing all existing interfaces to route requests to new server which would encrypt/decrypt the card details each time before sending any authorization requests.

Languages and Tools Used: C, COBOL, TAL, IBM’s WebSphere MQ, SOAP.

Role: Developer

II. CPC parcels

CPC (Canada Post) is the government organization in Canada for regulating and facilitating all Postal Rules within and outside Canada. Pitney Bowes on behalf of Canada Post, allows PB Customers to send parcels.

Transactions happen all the time through Authorization server which was built to send the payment requests to a third party system called TSYS. Tandem was used as a payment gateway for authorizing the payments for these transactions.

We were also required to build jobs for daily reconciliation of these transactions and send the reconciliation files to TSYS.

Languages Used: COBOL, TACL and SOAP for sending authorization to TSYS through Middleware. Net batch utility for Job Scheduling.

III. Impact Remediation Phase I and Phase II

Impact 2017 was a critical project for Pitney Bowes through which they changed the shape of their business process. This project aimed at unification of several business processes and defining a single source for all the business inputs – SAP.

To accommodate this, Postage by Phone application had to be changed for all the existing interfaces.

This required modification to the existing Orders, Billing and Leasing Interfaces which are handled by Postage by Phone Application.

Languages Used: COBOL, TACL, TAL, C and SQL.

Role: Senior Developer

IV. Currently leading all Projects from Customer Location at Danbury, CT, USA.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Recognized as monthly shining Star twice in a year for my valuable contribution to Pitney Bowes Account.

Provided several value adds to the client. Automated several daily health check reporting tools which saved a manual effort each day and after database maintenances activity, Crypto Servers health check by sending continuous Pings from an application Job are few value adds which were appreciated by Clients and Wipro Teams.

Idle Sessions closing Tool – This script checks idle user sessions each Friday and triggers an email to all the development and Support teams intimating that sessions will be closed on weekend. This saves a lot of manual time and CPU pegging.

Got Best Engineer award from Client for 2 consecutive Years for my contribution to the Postage by Phone Application.

Green Hound Award at Client Location in USA for identifying a potential issue which could have had turned out as an outage situation in a major rollout for customer in review phase.

2. Target Corporation (2012 Jan – 2012 December)

Target is a Retail Chain spread across United States. We at our development centers were responsible for new developments and supporting existing applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project duration of 3-4 Months with a fixed team size of 4 Members.

Waterfall Model development.

Coding and Unit Testing, Functional testing for the Modules developed.

SIT, UAT for the modules developed.

Post production support for each deployment for a period of 30 Days.
