Summary
I am a Stanford engineer with 6 years of experience launching rockets at SpaceX. My passion is in simulation, data analysis, and automation. I love finding elegant solutions, am a fanatic for efficiency, and thrive in a rapidly-changing and fast-paced environment. Objective
My objective is to work on cutting-edge technology that will change the world. My ideal job would allow me to work remotely and with a flexible schedule. I am open to working as a consultant, a contractor, or part-time.
Experience
Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer at SpaceX October 2011 - May 2015 (3 years 8 months)
At SpaceX GNC, I worked in a small team responsible for all GNC algorithms, trajectory design, and dynamic simulation of 16 successful flights of the Falcon 9 rocket.
● Led the trajectory design of five groundbreaking Falcon 9 launches
● Designed and stress tested flight algorithms to achieve maximum payload capability and orbit insertion accuracy using first principles and C++, Python, and Matlab software
● Developed physics models in 6 degree of freedom dynamics simulation with C++
● Ran and automated analysis of thousands of Monte Carlo simulations in parallel on high performance cluster using Python and Latex
● Led HITL and flight data review for anomaly investigations using Matlab Mission Assurance Engineer at SpaceX
June 2009 - October 2011 (2 years 5 months)
As the first employee in the Mission Assurance Department at SpaceX, my responsibilities were wide-ranging and dynamic. I worked under the Launch Chief Engineer to keep the Falcon 9 rocket development progressing as quickly as possible without taking on excessive risk.
● Improved the depth and efficiency of data analysis for engineering subsystems when they were in schedule crisis by automating their processes in Matlab
● Developed the web-based risk tracking system where high level design risks were evaluated and mitigated for the first two flights of the Falcon 9 rocket Skills
