Worked two-12 hour shifts a week as a licensed boiler operator in a 100 pound steam plant. Was also responsible for resolving hospital building maintenance issues as the need arose. Maintenance work often provided the opportunity to work hand in hand with hospital staff to resolve patient issues. It was particularly rewarding to accomplish these tasks and help improve the patient experience.

Responsible for accomplishment of electrical testing during the construction and maintenance of US Navy submarines. Duties included operation of electric plant and nuclear propulsion plant systems, troubleshooting of these systems and execution of established test procedures. De-energized and tagged out equipment to ensure safe work in electrical panels. Test equipment such as signal generators, multimeters and megohmmeters were used to accomplish these tasks.

Maintained the electrical distribution, steam generation, and associated support equipment as an enlisted sailor on the carrier USS NIMITZ. Was a qualified nuclear electrician responsible for reactor support and safety. Proudly served my country for five years while developing as a technician and a leader.
