Subject Knowledge

Covered basics of textile manufacturing and learnt about all textile processes from fibre to fabric production.

Learnt the processes of Dying and printing.

Learnt the techniques of improving the textile surface through embroidery.

Development of mood board, color board ad client board.

Development of new designs (from initial to final) with mood board.

Industry Experience

The project was primarily focusing on the study and understanding the company profile, design process, design development at “EASTERN SILK”, Bangalore. Duration of project Two Months.

The project was about to make two collection, It should be of either Apparel or Home furnishing in which we have to make 8-10 prints for the collection i.e. “Graduation Project”. This project I have done in “Govardhan Overseas Pvt. Ltd.”, Bangalore. Duration of projectFour & Half Months.

Worked as a TEXTILE DESIGNER in T.A.N.K DESIGN STUDIO (INDIA), in Andheri west, Mumbai for the Period of Six Months.

Understanding the concept of Composite mill, production, dyeing, and finishing of shirt fabric, textile testing and their quality aspects both technical as well as for commercial purposeat “Asarwa Mills”, Ahmadabad.Duration of project 15 Days.

Industry exposure on Screen printing and Machine Embroidery from Ambadi Industries,Kannur

Industry exposure on preparation of fibre to yarn in Cannanore Spinning Mill, Kannur.

Visited and studied about the various looms and their functions in the Indian institute of handloom and textile technology, Kerala.

1st prize awarded in Acron Paintingcompetition in 2004.

2ND Prize in jewlin throw in MAHATMA HANSRAJ ARYAN TOURNAMENT-2008

Got 2nd Prize in jewlin throw in All India NIFT Fest Converge 2011.

Got 1st Prize in Badminton Singles & 2nd Prize in Badminton doubles in NIFT Spectrum 2012

Projects/course work

Studied on the various coloration methods of yarn, fiber and fabric.

Weaved various weave designs on Handloom.

Successfully done the research on the marketing, positioning and product mix strategies of Eastern Silks.

Successfully done the project of various fabric sample collections.

ACTIVITIES

Worked as a Head Member in Fine Arts in NIFT college fest 2012.

Currently working as a Fine Art in upcoming NIFT, Kannur college magazine

Familiar with sketching/painting media like charcoal, pencil colors, dry pastels, oil pastels, water colors, poster colors and acrylic colors.

Have had a good hand in media like clay, Plaster of Paris, wood, Acrylic sheet, Foam board.
