Data Regression Analysis --- forecasting NBA players' salaries
Collected recent two seasons information about each player in NBA and used R to built four models and analyzed their coefficient, F-Stat, T-Stat, Adjusted R-square and finding the relationship between each model
Analyzed residual plots for each variable to solve multicollinearity and Q-Q plot for the each model to delete outliers
Compared each model and found the relationship between salary and positions. Analysis of Airline On-Time Performance and Causes of Flight Delays based on Hadoop
Collected 2014 and 2015 Airline Performance data from U.S. Department of Transportation (more than two million records) and used Hadoop to compute most three frequent cause of flight delay, the relationship between distance and delay and three carriers that are most easily to cause flight delay.
Compared the results of each quarter and analysis the differences, and gave customers traveling advice based on results.
Monte Carlo Algorism --- Portfolio profits analysis and forecast based on python
Collected and filtered the five years finance data of five Large-cap companies (AAPL, EMC, HPQ, QCOM, and STX), calculated average yearly log return and yearly volatility for each company.
Implemented two Monte Carlo simulations (Gaussian model and resampling) to compute the value of the portfolio in one year and 5% VAR then compared both simulations. Taxol Trading Engine based on C#
Collected and filtered eight years price data of Taxol.
Construct exchange engine based on TCP/IP and XML.
Implemented Gaussian model to simulated the price for each trader and send the trading information to exchange engine to process orders matching.
