More than 30 years experience in a wide variety of health care positions including more than 25 years’ experience as an emergency department Registered Nurse. Extensive experience working with senior citizens, young children (pediatrics), laboratory & pharmaceutical work.

Completed the Post RN degree program at Ryerson University. Working experience in Dialysis and as a Community Nurse BCLS, ACLS, TNCC and Immunization certified. I have also attended the ATLS course. Have successfully completed 2 courses in the Occupational Health Certificate program from the University of Alberta.

Immunization Nurse Onsite Immunization and Wellness Ltd. Oct. – Nov. 2012 Nursing With a colleague, conducted an influenza immunization program at a variety of educational institutions in the Kelowna area. Currently, I hold an immunization certificate Oct. 2013 and related insurance to Jan 31, 2013.

Registered Nurse Vernon Jubilee Hospital Feb. 2014 to Present Nursing As a floater, I perform a wide variety of nursing duties in all areas of the Vernon Emergency Department.

Nursing As a traveling nurse, I have worked at a number of hospitals throughout BC including Nanaimo, Surrey, Chilliwack, Mission, Burns Lake and Langley. In this capacity, I coordinated training, resource to nurses and worked with community groups to ensure our patients and residents received the care they expect at St. Bartholomew’s. I was displaced in October 2002 and remained casual, and took a .75 position as a staff nurse in July 2006

Registered Nurse Seton General Hospital 1999

Nursing Performed a variety of nursing duties at Seton, a small, rural hospital in Jasper, Alberta including emergency room trauma and other care, long-term care, maternity and general ward duties. Registered Nurse Capital Health Satellite Dialysis Unit 1998 - 1999 Nursing Initiated and monitored dialysis treatments for patients in the Fort McMurray area. I also setup and performed simple maintenance on our dialysis machines. Registered Nurse York Central Hospital, Dialysis Unit 1998 - 1998 Nursing Duties included attaching and detaching patients from dialysis machines and monitoring the progress of their dialysis treatment. Nursing Starting as an RPN, and continuing after graduation as a RN, I worked in a rehabilitation setting primarily with orthopedic and cardiac patients. As a casual worker, I worked, on average 2 days a week at Hillcrest. My duties included a large percentage of patient assessment and the encouragement of patients, where appropriate, to become more independent as their state of health improved.

Pharmacy Technician Toronto East General Hospital 1985-1989 Pharmacy Dispensed and prepared drugs in a hospital pharmacy environment under the supervision of a pharmacist. Included in my duties was the dispensing of ward stock and the control and dispensing of narcotic drugs.

Medical Platoon Sergeant Canadian Forces Reserves 1979 - 1993 Medical Starting as a private, I advanced to the position of Sergeant in a reserve medical company. In my final year, I commanded a platoon of new recruits. While in the reserves I had both received and given training in a wide variety of military medical subjects including anatomy, trauma treatment, the evacuation of wounded personnel, etc.
