Seeking a Process Systems Engineering position at E&C Company for LNG/Refinery/Petrochemical/Gas Processing Plants FEED and Detailed Engineering jobs.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Chemical Engineer with 40 years of diversified, industrial experience in process design and development, systems, operations, research, cost estimations, economic studies, and evaluations. Strong background in the areas of grassroots, expansion, revamp projects with lump sum and cost plus types of contracts. Expertise includes conceptual process design, development of PFDs, P&IDs, and UFDs, complex hydraulic calculations, relief valve sizing and specifications, and process specification for instruments.

Working knowledge of API, OHSA, NFPA, ANSI, and ASME Codes. Engineering Software use: Aspen Hysys, Promax, Epcon, Flarenet, Unisim and Fathom.

Excellent communication skills with proven ability to supervise varied activities.

1. EXPERIENCE: KBR, Houston TX, Oct 2000 to 2016.

Joined KBR as Technical Professional in the Process Systems Engineering department. Promoted to Senior Technical Professional in 2003, to Principal Technical Professional in April 2006 and Technical Professional in 2010. Projects participated in include:

March 2016 to August 2016: NHT project, BP Refinery, Whiting, IA. Team member of the group responsible for over pressure protection for the project. Reviewing the impact of the project at the tie ins, documenting the scenarios according to BP standards and sizing the relief devices.

2013-2016: INEOS HDPE Project Gemini, La Porte, TX Section lead for ISBL area for both define and detailed engineering phases of the project. Responsibilities included checking for all hydraulic calculations, relief valve calculations, P&ID issue and participating in Model Review/HAZOP sessions.

2012-2013: Equistar Cracker Recovery Expansion Project, La Porte, TX Revalidated all calculations from the feed stage for detailed engineering phase. Prepared construction issue P&ID’s, attended Model Reviews and resolved action items.

2011-2012: Jazan Refinery & Terminal FEED, Saudi Arabia Section Lead for the Marine Terminal Area work’ carried out in the Khober Engineering Center, Al Khober, Saudi Arabia. Responsibility included preparing P&ID’s and data sheets for metering/ prover skids for all import, export streams and associated equipment.

2009-2010: Saudi Kayan Olefins project, Saudi Arabia Worked at the site of the Olefins project for construction support, writing operating manuals, providing help to the startup and commissioning groups, maintaining post IFC issue of the P&ID’s, converting vendor drawings to the project standard, conducting HAZOP for late changes and issue of as-build drawings and line list.

2009: Divided Wall Columns, Valero Refineries, USA Process Systems lead for the Basic Engineering Package for C6HC Concentration Units by adding divided wall columns to 4 Valero refineries in the US. Worked on all hydraulic calculations, issue of P&ID’s and load/data sheets.

2007-2008: Saudi Kayan Olefins project, Saudi Arabia Hot Area section lead for the detailed engineering phase of the project. In addition to preparing standard deliverables, assisted the team writing the operating manuals during the initial drafting stages.

2007: JIHUA SUPERFLEX, China

Preparation of process design package (PDP) and basic engineering package (BEP) for propylene production using Superflex technology. Worked on hydraulics and P&ID development for the regeneration area.

2005-2007: Lotte Daesan Petrochemical Corp. South Korea Engaged in Feed packages for two Olefin units revamp including addition of new cracking furnaces and debottlenecking of the recovery section.

2004: Petro China New Naphtha Cracker, Lanzhou, China. Responsibilities included development of FEED package for a grass root unit.

2001-2004: BP Amoco Olefins Expansion Project, Chocolate Bayou, TX Participated in the FEED and the Detailed Engineering phases of the project for installation of new cracking furnaces and de-bottlenecking of the recovery section. Also participated in Technical reviews and provided field support during commissioning.

2000: Petro Canada Edmonton Refinery, Canada

Worked on the FEED package of the Sulfur-in-Gasoline phase of the refinery conversion project.

2. Pakistan: June 1974 to 1999.

Worked at different small and medium sized operating plants;

As production engineer, supervising plant operation and trouble-shooting issues.

As lead engineer for capacity expansion for inorganic chemical plant doing equipment sizing and layout, installation and commissioning and plant operation.

As engineer, involved in development of pilot plant and experimental programs for studies of coating organic binders to different materials.

Responsible for revamping and capacity expansion including conversion of the unit from PLC based rigid control system to a PC based control. Education:
