UTTAM VALUE STEELS LIMITED, a producer of galvanized coils/sheets and corrugated sheets and hot rolled coils/sheets/plates with a wide range in thickness and grades.

JOB PROFILE AND WORK RESPONSIBILITY:

Job in Uttam value steel under the job profile of SHIFT INCHARGE in shift AT CASTER DIVISION IN CCM DEPARTMENT.

Aim to produce the casting of required grade, size and length with quality and quantity as per our customer order requirement with zero defects with application of Standard Operating Procedure.

Guide to electrical and maintenance department about fault in PLC and machine related problems and clear emergency as soon as possible so as to avoid delays, production loss with increasing efficiency.

Minimizing performance bottlenecks for high productivity with maximum utilization of men, material & machine; preparing process sheets & estimate sheets for the same.

Set the target for the day as per PPIC planning and try to achieve for the same by coordinating and co operating with SMS.

Make ready tundish for casting, i.e. fixing MBS and SEN in to the tundish.

Check tundish before preheating of tundish & after that heating that up to ready for casting.

Inspection of the spray water in the apron.

Mould size preparation for the upcoming sequence of grade casting.

Set all casting parameters in to the system before start of casting.

Select casting powder according to grade and carbon % of grade casting.

Controlling the water flow into the mould while casting.

Overall slab casting process control through PULPIT control room.

Maintaining the casting speed and temperature of the liquid metal while casting.

Hot slab inspection at the time of slab removing from apron, after

removing from withdrawal cut slab into required length as per customer requirement.

Looking for housekeeping at the shop floor, tundish area and slab yard

Manpower handling for the shop floor in shift.

To study work content & time study.

Updating the ONLINE DECLARATION (SAP).

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT:

To ensure profitability of Caster Section by keeping cost under control.

To meet Daily, Weekly and Monthly Targets of SMS.

Awareness of ISO and Technical Specification.

SMS & Caster Refractory management for managing costs and getting optimum life.

Responsible for Total Production Management in Caster section.

OPERATION & MAINTENANCE:

Effective participating in maintenance schedules of Caster, to increase machine up time.

Doing ABC analysis of Breakouts and identifying causes of failure.

Proactively identify areas of obstruction/breakdown and take steps to rectify the equipment through application of trouble shooting tools.

Improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness of machines & equipment; involved in improving yield by eliminating root cause of detect.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Improvement in slab quality to get good quality of rolled plates & coils.

Increase Mould Life from 500 heats to 1000 heats.

Highest heat Cast in a month in my shift.

Highest heat in single Sequence.

Zero Breakouts in two Consecutive months.

Achieve highest S.M.S production in one month.
