About the project

The existing Al-Qurayyah open cycle plant, that Lies 120KM south of Dammam and consists of 5 blocks each including 3 GE frame 7FA gas Turbines with all BOPs (MV Switchgears, DC Systems, LV Switchgears, Protection and control, Diesel Generators, Water Treatment Tanks, Fuel Systems, etc The operating in an open cycle configuration to generating 2500MW power output, including 4.5Km high pressure fuel gas pipeline from Saudi Aramco sources near existing Qurayyah-1 Thermal power plant.

The conversion to a combined cycle power plant additional 5 steam Turbines GE 307FA combined-cycle packages and 15 Heat Recovery Steam Generators a power generation output of 1300 MW will be added to the open cycle plant to increase the total capacity of 3800 MW for the awarded Contract Price SAR 6.8 billion.

Due to the outstanding performance additional Block 6 Extension consist of 3 GE frame 7FA Gas Turbines, 1 Steam Turbine GE 307FA, 3 HRSGs with all BOPs. This package will add a net power 800 MW to the plant, thus increasing the overall Power plant capacity to 4600 MW for additional contract price SAR 2.0 billion. The overall Contract Amount SAR 8.8 billion

About the project

The project area is located in Jebel Ali in Dubai. The site is adjacent to the Arabian

Ranches Roundabout at the Emirates Road near Dubai Sports City and Dubai

Autodrome. The rising mains extend over a distance of 16,900 meters to the new

sewage treatment plant at Jebel Ali, currently under design.

Pumping station XI with a capacity of 4,500 liters per second (capacity 9,000 lps),

Civil works, inlet piping works, screens chamber, odor control room, power

generation plant, including supply and installation of mechanical plant and electrical

switchgear, installation of pumps and piping, commissioning and maintenance for a

period of 1 year. The contract includes miscellaneous site works, lighting,

construction of operator’s accommodation, provision of SCADA, firefighting and

other works. Construction of 3way 1600mm GRP rising mains to the new STP at

Jebel Ali, along with all washout chambers, air release valves, including crossing by

NDRC under existing roadway. Works include the construction of thrust block

Construction of inlet works including pressure piping to connect to upstream

pumping station, under construction under separate contracts, gravity inlet for

connecting immediate catchments area to pumping station.
