Senior Personnel Supervisor, Bloomington, IL

March 2014 – February 2016

Served as the Senior Human Resources Sergeant for the 33D Military Police (MP) Battalion consisting of over 530 employees. Subject matter expert responsible for planning, directing, and managing the processing and tracking of all personnel actions (awards, evaluations, promotions, reductions, finance, leaves and passes, strength reporting, legal actions, and readiness of all assigned and attached personnel); Provide quality assurance for all annual reviews. Provided reporting and analysis on personnel trends. Processed needed updates to Soldiers electronic files; directly responsible for 2 supervisors and 4 employees.

Training Manager/Course Manager/Instructor (Equivalent to civilian manager position), Springfield, IL

Jul 2010 – Mar 2014

Leads 2 supervisors with 15 employees. Responsible for all the training needs of the battalion. Involved in the day to day supervision of training management (including the learning management systems), mobilization planning, supply, maintenance, pay and personnel (pay, schools, promotions, administration and training) functions. Synchronizes logistical and administrative support among numerous support agencies to facilitate student training for 5 ton or larger military vehicles. Acts as a mentor and coach to larger population of organizational employees. Handles new hire orientation.

Successfully manages all aspects, including hiring of instructors, of a 28 day intensive learning experience which includes classroom, travel, and live driving experience of 5 ton or greater military vehicles delivered by 15-17 instructors over the term of the course for approximately 25-30 students four times a year.

Redesigned and moved this course’s physical location 167 miles south (to include driving routes) with no warning in 6 weeks with no down time in instruction, no increased cost, as well as no impact to students or their learning.

Maintained zero accidents through safety initiatives over several years for a course that is hazardous with 5 million in equipment through approximately 2200 miles per year.

Achieved and maintained though significant process improvement in the course a 2K per student savings for the course as compared to the other 20 schools who run the same training nationwide. Replicated by other courses.

Due to success of program acts as center of excellence for the Midwest region for this type of school.

Developed 12 sound, comprehensive policies for the Battalion on various topics still in use today.

Lead Analyst prepares, analyzes, and processes HR personnel data entry and input of HR information and data changes to the Army’s HRIS system, including but not limited to, new soldiers, transfers, promotions, benefits enrollment/changes, and discharges. Ensured new enlistment paperwork was processed and verified in a timely manner. Reviewed and audited completed data entry assignments for accuracy. Worked with other departments on creating custom reporting from the HRIS system. Update and produce month-end and quarterly reports as well as other special reports upon request. Personnel Services leader, Personnel Information Systems, Springfield, IL

September 2001 – March 2004

Direct supervision of four soldiers. Responsible for over 9000 records a year to include accountability and proper filing procedures and updates. Primary trainer for all new soldiers for HRIS system access privileges. From the Army board and selection functions, to the delivery of self-service information viewable through Army Knowledge Online. If a piece of information is personnel related, SIDPERS maintains and sustains the systems and data bases from which it is created, edited or stored. SIDPERS is the IT enabler for provisioning of leads, managing the accessioning process, capturing data from the processes, and providing accessions data.
