WORK EXPERIENCE
Honda Car India Ltd. - Industrial Trainee
May – August 2015
• Handled responsibilities of New Product Launch (Honda Jazz 2016). Cross-checked updated department requirements and noted down issues during this process.
• Worked for the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), material handling and material flow in the welding department. Compiled weekly report on Microsoft Excel for TPM measures taken.
• Suggested and installed the quality gate after the Body-in-White welding stations. This resulted in faster feedback delivery to welding stations and reduction of 35-38 defected cars outflow.
• Introduced design change (Gabari) in jigs. Implementation of gabari reduced welding defects due to blind spot and reduced welding time by 15-20 seconds.
• Designed (in Solidworks) and proposed use of PVC groves in the side panel dolly. Earlier the side panels used to strike with each other, which produced dents and scratches on panels.
• Performed testing and standardized the currently used welding guns at side panel section. This resulted in 100% elimination of defects caused by wrong tip, shank and adapter.
Continental Carbon India Ltd. - Industrial Trainee
January – May 2014
• Provided efficiency improvement measures in Pre-heaters. Successfully improved the heat absorption capability by 6%.
• Tested various gluing materials in the R&D department to increase the strength of carbon pellets for ease of packaging and transportation.
• Utilized Continental Carbon’s Project Management software for project updates and discussion with engineers.
• Introduced techniques for calculating actual Free Air Delivery (FAD) of the compressor, its isothermal power requirement, volumetric efficiency and specific power requirement.
Gas Authority of India Ltd. - Technical Trainee
Summer 2013
• Solved pipeline design issues using CATIA for old pipeline and sectionalizing valve replacement. Prepared and updated blueprints for pipeline extension project.
• Conducted various maintenance procedures such as corrosion check, radiographic inspection, sectionalizing valve installation and cathodic protection for buried pipeline.
Delphi Automotive Systems Pvt. Ltd. – Industrial Trainee
Summer 2012
• Eliminated potential risks of radiator failure by using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodology. Reduced defects in Volkswagen radiators from 5-6% to 1% in the final testing phase.
• Hands-on experience with radiator leak testing methods such as water test, light test and air pressure test.
PROJECTS
Formula SAE race car designed in SolidWorks software with efficient aerodynamic package including front wing, rear wing, diffuser, vortex devices, splitter etc. Spring 2015
• Front and rear wings tested in Solidworks flow simulation to perform CFD analysis in order to get the best downforce angle.
• Design improvements were done in four phases with advanced level CFD results obtained from TotalSim (CFD Company) which provided overall car’s downforce, surface pressure, total pressure, stream lines and velocity vectors.
Structural analysis of sagittal radius of knee implant was in ANSYS.
Fall 2015
• Model was created in Creo software. Force and stress analysis was done for different knee bending angles (no bending, mild bending and high bending).
• Optimized value (43mm) for the sagittal radius of the knee was selected after analyzing forces at different bending angles of the knee.
Aerodynamic setup of a race car. Fall 2014
• Wind tunnel data was deciphered in MS Excel to create the input/output aerodynamic variables with STP conversions.
• User friendly workbook was maintained with the help of VLOOKUP feature of MS Excel to get output in the form of downforce, drag, aero balance etc. at different ride heights.
Acceleration simulation for an Indy Lights car. Fall 2014
• Performance equations were utilized with the concept of vehicle dynamics. Simulation was started by calculating initial car parameters.
• Condition of slip and other parameters were included with gear change. Coded algorithm in MS Excel, utilized the simulation and noted changes in performance.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
