MASTER CAPTAIN

I am accomplished professional Master Mariner with over 35 years’ experience. I started in the fishing industry crabbing, long lining, dragging, seining & gill netting and also ran salmon and urchin packers. Most of my experience has been in the oil field industry for the last 22 years, working for year’s foreign international waters and in U.S. Domestic waters, I am experienced in working in the Bering Seas, the Pacific Ocean, through the Panama Canal, the Caribbean Seas and the Gulf of Mexico, and across the Atlantic Ocean to the West Coast of Africa. I’ve ran AHTS vessels and Tugs pulling barges and Rigs on locations and for many deliveries. I am a safe master mariner and skilled in handling big and small vessels in small ports and tight spots in many of parts of the world. A proactive team player and an efficient worker, non-smoker and a non-alcoholic who likes to see a job well done. KEY SKILLS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Operational Control and Monitoring – Skills in controlling operations of equipment and systems. Experience of working in all weather conditions such as heavy seas, poor Visibility, currents and winds. Proficient in Plotting, Routes, Voyage Plans with Paper charts, computer Charts such as E-Maps, ECDIS and all up dates. Efficient with many makes and models for AIS, Radars, GPS, GMDSS, VHF radios. The communication via company computers with ISM/SMS programs, scheduled Maintenance, crewing and document control with USCG, Immigration and Customs in both foreign and domestic ports involving security polices and foreign regulations as per the Marsec Levels 1, 2 or 3. I’ve been a Master/Captain on Tugs, Supply Boats, AHTS, Crew Boats, Utility Boats, Fishing vessels and Packers. Main propulsion has been with: Single screw, double screws, Triple screws, Quad screws, five & six screws these have varied from Conventional shaft, Quart Nozzle, Jet Drive, variable Pitch and Z-drive.

KEY DELIVERABLES

Navigational Duties:

Abiding by all safety standards and regulations by company and USCG, CFRs.

Instrumental stability and monitoring load line with receiving and discharging of cargo, ballasting.

Verifying and ensuring the availability of adequate fluids, potable/drill water, Fuel, Hydraulic oil, Mains and Generators-filters, distance, speed, safe havens and eta.

Monitoring, directing and coordinating crew functions while loading and unloading cargo.

Utilizing effective communication while liaising and maintaining strong relations with custom officials.

Responsible for towing and maneuvering barges with signals, radio communications with assist tugs, traffic undertow to destinations as well as Rigs and barges.

Supervising daily activity records, personnel reports, ship positions and movements, port of call, weather and sea conditions, pollution control efforts, and/or cargo and passenger status.

Marine Coordination Duties:

Supervising the activities of assigned personnel at the management established level in the marine coordination unit.

Ensuring the suitability of vessels’ tanks to load cargo on arrival or defining requirements to provide suitable tanks and instructing vessel agents/masters accordingly in coordination with third party inspectors.

Regularly monitoring progress of different vessels prior to arrival at the port and coordinating with the chief officer, chief engineer and the chief steward. All in part of Master/Captain/Officer/Able Seamen on Watch.
