Highmark is one of the nation largest health insurers. It has many trading partners who send request transactions and receive the response transactions. These request/response transactions include 837 (I, P and D), 270/271, 276/277, and 834. It uses IBM Integration BUS, MQ Series, Web application Server, WTX, Mainframes, UNIX and SQL Database in the process of generating the response.

Responsibilities:

Developed Flows using IBM Integration Toolkit and ESQL coding

Interacted with WebSphere Queues through Flows

Developed maps using Map Designer

Analyzed & Developed EDI-HIPPA transactions Claim Status Inquiry 276 & Claim Status Information 277 maps.

Analyzed & Developed EDI-HIPPA transactions Health Care Claim 837, 834, 835 maps.

Used Integration Flow Designer to Generate Systems for Development, Quality and Production Environments and Used the Event Server in order to deploy the systems and UNIX to bounce the Event Server.

Used PQ Edit to look at the queues when there is a problem with reading the messages from either the Mainframe or UNIX queues.

This project involves converting some of the RT Inquiry WTX maps into IBM message Broker flows.

#Legacy Modernization Real Time Claim Adjudication & Estimation

This project will give HM & MTST Trading Partners the continued capability of Submitting Real Time Institutional and Professional Claims while also providing the capability for the trading partner to submit Claims for Adjudication or Estimation and receiving the results of the processing of these requests for estimated Member liability and payment information.

#UCCI 837 DRT (Dedicated Real Time)

The purpose of this project is to provide Vendors the capability to submit Real Time 837D transactions on behalf of Providers and receive a Claim determination within 45 seconds or less from the time UCCI received the request.

Hawaii Medical Services Association (HMSA)

Health Care Claim - 837(P) is used by the providers or between payers to submit/transfer professional Claims. Mercator is used for Data Transformation between the EDI subsystem and Oracle database and is used for processing ANSI X12N 837 document. Event Server keeps polling for incoming EDI data and picks it up and then it is posted to MQ Series message queue for BlueExchange System.

Responsibilities:

Involved in preparing the methodology document for HIPAA implementation

Modified healthcare-related EDI map (837, 834) using Mercator

Created Type Trees Using Type Designer for Proprietary formats

Enterprise Office Suite is a suite of products for Multi-Level Marketing industry. One of the lead developers in developing CRM(Contact Resource Management), CMS(Content Management System), Access Profiles, Distributor Websites, Email modules. CRM is used by the distributors and leads to manage their contacts in this direct sales industry. CMS is used to maintain the content on the enterprise level websites and distributor websites for different markets and for different languages. A market can have different languages. When the user goes to a market and a language in that market, the content specific to that language is displayed on the website. The overrides work same as the resource bundles work in Java. Developed our own email client. These modules are developed using Service Oriented Architecture for Java (SOA4J).

Role:

Lead developer in developing CRM, CMS, and Email modules. Actively participated in designing the database for these modules.

Wrote hibernate mapping files, POJOs, and DAOs for these modules.

Used maven as a build tool and wrote maven script for automatic deployment of war, setting all project preferences in eclipse, automatic deployment of new jars to the repository.
