Area de Ciencias Fisiológicas - PUCMM, Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic Teacher Trainee, Dra. Mariela Pena
We met Saturdays since 8AM till 6PM to discuss particular topics which had been stablished in a program given to us at the beginning of the training process. On our Saturday sessions they'd basically call us up to stand up and talk about a particular part of the topic scheduled for the day. You had to go over every single detail you knew using chalk and a blackboard to draw diagrams and make the subject clear. During each of our interventions we'd be interrupted multiple times by our trainers who'd ask us anything that'd come to mind regarding that particular topic. After these sessions were over we'd meet twice during weekdays for 2 hours to do lab sessions which involved us doing practical procedures which were related to the previous Saturday session. Those experiments involved the use of instruments, chemicals and biologic material such as live rabbits, frogs, mice and dogs. Work Experience

We also had a small emergency room to take care of small wounds by stitching them. 09/2010 - 12/2010 Average Hours/Week: 40

We'd get early, do rounds with residents and assist them with venupunctures and simple procedures. We also had to write down charts. I rotated over Infectious diseases, ICU, Endocrinology and Internal Medicine Departments. Abreu Ramirez, Cristian Antonio (14390129)
